Coke Freestyle Machines and Souvenir Canteen Join Soarin’ in Disney California Adventure

We’re SOARIN’ from coast to coast! The beloved Soarin’ attraction premiered with a brand new film, Soarin’ Around the World, in both Disneyland and Disney World recently (not to mention Shanghai Disneyland, too!).

Disneyland Snack Hack: Churros with Dipping Sauces

We are back with another of our favorite Disneyland Snack Hacks! And this time, it’s dessert all the way, my friends. Previously, we shared with you some winners, like the Saucy Cheddar Cheese Stick and our very own Churro Sundae. And who could forget the Tajin Dole Whip? YUM.

Dining in Disneyland authority Heather comes up with some amazing ideas when it’s time to snack in Disneyland. And it seems that Churros, in particular, lend themselves really well to new snack ideas. Today, we’re gonna dip ‘em.

We've Got Churros. We've Got Sauce.

I know, I know what you’re gonna say. You can get Churro Bites with Dipping Sauces over at the Cozy Cone Motel. While they’re pretty good, there’s room for improvement. [Read more…]

Dining in Disneyland Review: World of Color Dessert Party in Disney California Adventure

This past March, the Disneyland Resort introduced the World of Color Dessert Party.  My family and I had the pleasure of attending recently, and what a special treat it was!  I’m always up for a Disney Dessert Party. I’ve done the Fanstasmic Dessert Party at Disneyland (currently on hiatus due to construction) and also a handful of different dessert parties at Walt Disney World.

I’m excited to say that the World of Color Dessert Party both met and exceeded my expectations!  The dessert party starts one hour prior to World of Color show time.  Reservations must be made in advance either online or by calling Disney Dining; the dessert parties are nightly.

Review: The Earthquake Sundae and More at Ghirardelli Chocolate Shop

Recently, I was in Disneyland for the Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival. And while I ate a lot of wonderful food and attended some delicious special events, I KNEW it was time for me to finally hit up Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop for some super sweets. And by super sweets, I mean SUPER BIG ICE CREAM!

Welcome to Ghirardelli!

See, I had heard that one of my all time favorite Ghirardelli treats — the Gold Rush Sundae — was alive and well at the DCA location, even though it’s not listed on the menu (and no longer found at all at the Disney Springs location in Walt Disney World). And I also knew that I HAD to try the ginormous Earthquake Sundae as well (this one IS found at Disney Springs in Disney World, just FYI). [Read more…]

Disneyland Food Hack: DIY Churro Sundae

We are back to bring you news of another delicious Disneyland Snack Hack!

A while ago, we shared how you can make a dreamy Dole Whip even more wonderful — just add Tajin Spice from Tropical Imports! But today, we’re going another direction entirely and bringing two of our favorite Disney treats together in the process.

Churro in Disneyland

Churros are a must on every Disneyland trip. But there’s nothing better than adding those warm, sweet fried treats to something cold and creamy. And that’s why we love making our very own Churro Sundae. Thanks to our Dining in Disneyland authority Heather for dreaming up this amazing treat! [Read more…]

Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival FIRST LOOK!

Woo-hoo! We were SO excited to hear that the California Adventure Food and Wine Festival was coming out of hiatus this year. And I’m thrilled to report that it’s AWESOME!

Yep — the festival, which runs in Disney California Adventure in Disneyland Resort on weekends through May 1, opened for business yesterday. And DFB was there to explore!

Yesterday, we mostly explored the brand new food booths that are debuting at the festival for the first time. Those of you familiar with the Epcot Food and Wine Festival in Walt Disney World will know the set-up. Small booths featuring several tapas-sized menu items and selected beverages are set up around the festival. This is the first time that the California festival has done this, so we were super excited to check it out.

Here’s what we sampled and tasted yesterday!

Dining in Disneyland: The Banana Corn Dog from DCA’s Award Wieners

First off, if you have yet to see Disney’s Zootopia, get out there and do it!  My whole family loved the movie.  It’s fun for all ages including temperamental, too cool for school tweens and teenagers.  Secondly, if you love bananas, we hope you got over to California Adventure’s Award Wieners to celebrate the movie with a Banana Corn Dog.

Located in DCA’s Hollywood Land, Award Wieners is a counter service hot dog spot currently offering (today is the last day!) the specialty Banana Corn Dog in honor of Zootopia’s release.

The Banana Corn Dog is actually two small banana corn dogs.  My guess is that they prepare it this way because a whole banana might get too mushy when fried and wouldn’t hold its shape.  The bananas are dipped in Corn and Honey Batter, fried, and topped with Powdered Sugar.  Two dipping sauces are served with the banana corn dogs: Red “Pawpsicle” Raspberry Sauce and Chocolate Sauce.
