Welcome back, DFB friends! We’re here with another What’s New at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
And, we’ve got plenty of food, merchandise, and entertainment updates to share with you! So, what are you waiting for? Let’s dive right on in!
Merry (almost) Christmas from EPCOT!
We’re back to take a look at the new food, merchandise, and attraction updates! We spotted quite a few new items and a gift shop has reopened. Step inside a very festive EPCOT to see what we found!
We’re checking in on the west coast today!
Downtown Disney remains the one open piece of Disneyland, and we’re stopping in today to check out the latest news. Here are all the updates in food, construction, and merchandise!
Hang on to your hats, kids, because we’re heading into the rainforest!
No, we’re not riding the Jungle Cruise (again). We’re headed to Disney Springs to have a meal at Rainforest Cafe. We recently ate at the location at Animal kingdom (you can read our review here), but it’s been a hot minute since we’ve dined at the chain’s location at Disney Springs. This spot is typically way more about the theming than the food, so we tempered our expectations and headed in for lunch!
Alright, we have another cookie recipe for you to try! (Clearly we love cookies around here, if you can’t tell!) This one is ICEBOX cookies — but, not just any old icebox cookies — these are themed after Mickey & friends!
If you’re not familiar with Icebox cookies, you’re not alone! Icebox cookies became popular in the 1930s when people began to make cookie dough and keep it in their icebox to bake later – hence the phrase icebox cookies! Basically, they’re the O.G. break-and-bake cookies that you see at the store today! [Read more…]
Season 2 of the Disney+ hit, The Mandalorian, has been a truly wild ride!

We won’t spoil anything in the season finale yet, just in case you haven’t watched it, but this season has partially focused on the efforts of the Mandalorian Bo-Katan Kryze to regain control of the Darksaber (a lightsaber often owned by the ruler of the planet Mandalore). We’ve seen a lot of cool lightsabers in Star Wars films and shows over the years, including Ahsoka Tano’s two white lightsabers, but this one may take the cake. The Darksaber stands out with its bold design and black blade, and now you can have one for yourself!
EPCOT is getting some fantastic new rides, a new fireworks show, and so much more as part of the big EPCOT Transformation!

Spaceship Earth
And on TOP of all of that, EPCOT is also getting a beautiful new entrance fountain with fantastic, clear pylons! We’ve seen a bit of the pylons from the sky and the ground, and we even spotted them on the EPCOT map, but they’ve been mostly covered up with some construction walls…until today!
2020 has brought a lot of changes to Disney World with the introduction of mask requirements; the suspension of Fastpass+, parades, and character meet-and-greets; and so much more.
Pandora Face Masks
And as the global situation develops, Disney has updated its policies to bring back the magic but still protect guests — including specifying that there’s no eating/drinking allowed in line and noting that masks cannot be removed to eat or drink, except when stationary and physically distanced. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has been making changes to their policies over time as well, and here’s how some of those important changes could potentially impact your future Disney Vacation and how you plan for it.
Entertainment in the parks may be different right now, but Disney has been giving us plenty to watch lately!
Right after the closures Disney released a recorded version of the Magic Kingdom fireworks show, Happily Ever After, and ever since then we’ve seen more and more shows from the park online like Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks and La Parade de Noël from Disneyland Paris!
‘Tis the season for giving!
While there are so many ways to support each other and give back this year, it looks like Disneyland is getting in on the action! Although the Disneyland theme parks are closed for the foreseeable future due to the pandemic, Disney took part in a donation event for families in Anaheim today!
