Disney’s Annual Meeting of Shareholders is currently taking place, and we’re hearing a ton of exciting news from the Company!
Last week, the state of California announced that theme parks can reopen in the red tier at limited capacity, effective April 1st. In response, Bob Chapek has shared more information regarding the long-awaited reopening of the Disneyland Resort.
While this means large parks like Disneyland could reopen as early as April 1st, Bob Chapek announced that they hope to reopen the Anaheim parks sometime in late April.
Chapek noted that it will take some time to call back over 10,000 Cast Members to work and retrain them in a way that meets California’s standards and requirements for reopening theme parks. Chapek commented that they hope to announce an exact reopening date in the coming weeks.
Currently, Disney California Adventure is set to host A Touch of Disney, a ticketed event taking place Thursdays through Mondays starting March 18th. The events are currently scheduled to run through April 19th.
We will continue to keep a very close watch on Disneyland’s reopening timeline and we will let you know as soon as we learn more!
