Mary Poppins was right when she said, “A spoonful of sugar helps the Disney day become more magical!”
Okay, that’s not exactly what she said. But it’s true! If you’re visiting Disneyland, one spot to get MORE than a heaping spoonful of delicious sugar is Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe — on the end of Main Street, USA at Disneyland. This quick-service bakery-style eatery serves up TONS of delicious, sugary options, from specialty coffees to seasonal treats and desserts. It’s open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner — and don’t worry — they have “real food” options as well. Today, we’re taking you along with us to Jolly Holiday so that you can see for yourself what the hype is about. Let’s go!
Atmosphere
A fan-favorite aspect of this restaurant is that it’s Mary Poppins-themed. When you enter, your attention is immediately drawn to the stained glass windows that have penguins on them. There’s only one dining room, though, so seating can be hard to find. The main dining room has standard tables and chairs. However, there is also outdoor seating available.
To order, you can check out the menu by visiting a QR code available when you walk in. Then, you can walk up to the Cast Members and order your food OR do it via Mobile Order on the Disneyland App.
The setup is similar to most other Disney Parks quick service spots — communal eating utensils and napkins, you choose your own seating, the whole nine yards. Hey, things don’t need to be complicated to be delicious.
What typically draws people to this eatery other than the Mary Poppins-theming is the fact that you can view fireworks from the outdoor seating area. Oh, and the fact that the seasonal treats are scrumptious and tasty and everything right in the world. Don’t worry, we’ll review a few summer menu items a bit later. In the meantime, let’s talk about EVERYTHING that the menu has to offer!

Eats
Right now, you can get the S’Mores Macaron, Cherries and Cream Pie, Coffee-Chocolate Cheesecake, and the Strawberry-Lemon Croissant Muffin. We tried ALL of them, and we’re here to give you the full scoop. Let’s dig in!
S’Mores Macaron — $6.99
The S’Mores Macaron is Chocolate-dipped Macaron Shell with Toasted Marshmallow, Marshmallow Mousse, Chocolate Mousse Center and Graham Cracker Crumbles.
This one is where we start to draw the line with chocolate. It was a bit too much. The chocolate shell with even MORE chocolate on top of that was very strong and rich. The marshmallow mousse was our favorite part of the whole thing. It was gooey, sweet, and tasted just like a perfectly-toasted marshmallow. The chocolate mousse center was a bit too rich when combined with the marshmallow — but it did give it a very sweet, chocolatey, and gooey center. It was… okay. If you LOVE chocolate, you’ll love this. It’s also pretty messy, so be aware of that, too!
Cherries and Cream Pie — $6.49
The Cherries and Cream Pie is a Sweet Cheese and Cherry-filled Pastry topped with Cherry Icing and Chocolate Crunchy Pearls.
The first thing we noticed when trying this one is that it had a sweet, fresh, natural cherry taste. It didn’t taste like artificial cherry flavoring at all, which we enjoyed. It’s followed by hints of sweet cream cheese. The chocolate flavor from the crunchy pearls on top wasn’t as strong as we expected, and the flavor was similar to what you’d taste on a chocolate glazed donut. If you love chocolate, cherries, or any of the hand pies at Disneyland, definitely give this one a try.
Coffee-Chocolate Cheesecake — $6.49
The Coffee-Chocolate Cheesecake is a Coffee Cheesecake with Chocolate Crunch Crust, topped with Vanilla Bean Whipped Ganache and Chocolate Crunchy Pearls.
We think this one is a good choice even if you aren’t the biggest fan of coffee desserts. It has a very light coffee taste followed by a rich chocolate aftertaste with hints of vanilla. The cheesecake has a very light and creamy texture. If you don’t mind a richer dessert, and you love coffee and/or chocolate, we definitely recommend this one.
Strawberry-Lemon Croissant Muffin — $5.99
The Strawberry-Lemon Croissant Muffin is Rolled Croissant Dough layered with Butter and Sugar, filled with Strawberry-Lemon Curd, and topped with a Fresh Strawberry.
This light and refreshing treat has a sweet, fresh strawberry flavor followed by sour/tangy lemon. It reminded us a lot of strawberry lemonade! However, the croissant/muffin itself was a bit hard, which is our one complaint. We ended up liking this one and would recommend it to anyone who loves more tart/sour desserts or anyone who loves strawberries.
Nosh or Not?
If you’re looking for a sweet treat, a quick sandwich or bite to eat, and some good ‘ole Mary Poppins vibes, we definitely recommend you visit Jolly Holiday. On the other hand, if you’re hoping for a place to sit down, relax, and have a full spread of food, this probably isn’t the eatery for you!
Pros
- Quick service — get your food fast and then get outta there!
- ALL the desserts your heart desires
- Unique theming
Cons
- Not a lot of seating
- Desserts can be inconsistent depending on what you order
- Tends to be crowded
Overall
If you’re hoping for some delicious desserts or seasonal snacks, we definitely think that Jolly Holiday is worth a shot. We’ve liked most of the things we’ve gotten here in the past, and we do find the pricing to be fair. However, if small bites like soups and sandwiches aren’t your thing, and you don’t have much of a sweet tooth, you might be better-suited at Blue Bayou, Carnation Cafe, or Cafe Orleans. These all have the same cafe, easy-breezy vibe of Jolly Holiday, but with more food and heartier options.
