2025 is well underway, and that means a lot of changes are right around the corner for The Most Magical Place on Earth!

On top of the usual events and opportunities Disney World offers throughout the year, 2025 is bringing loads of construction and new attractions to the parks (or at least, laying the groundwork for them). If you’re taking a trip this year, make sure you’ve got these dates locked into your head to assist with your planning!

January 2025

January will be a pretty wild month in Disney World, seeing permanent attraction closures, runDisney races, the start of After Hours events, a new hotel perk, the start of an EPCOT festival, and more! Let’s break it down.

• January 1st: New Disney World Hotel Water Park perk begins (Guests staying at a Disney World hotel now get free access to Disney’s water parks on the day of their check-in)

• January 5th: Minnie’s Silver Screen Dine begins at Hollywood & Vine in Disney’s Hollywood Studios
• January 6th: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Magic Kingdom closes for year-long refurbishment
• January 6th: Kali River Rapids in Animal Kingdom will close for its annual seasonal refurbishment

• Select dates January 6th to May 19th: Magic Kingdom After Hours events return — see full dates here!

• January 8th-12th: Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend

• January 13th: TriceraTop Spin, Fossil Fun Games, and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures officially permanently closed in Animal Kingdom
• January 13th: Astro Orbiter closes for refurbishment in Magic Kingdom. It will reopen in Summer 2025.

• January 17th through February 24th: Festival of the Arts in EPCOT

• January 20th: Magic Kingdom’s The Hall of Presidents will close to be updated; A reopening date has not yet been announced.
• Select dates January 22nd to September 3rd: After Hours at Hollywood Studios return — see full dates here!

• January 2025 to April 2025: Fantasia Pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort under refurbishment

• January 2025 to June 2025: Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool area at Disney’s Yacht Club and Beach Club Resorts closed for refurbishment

February 2025

February isn’t as hectic when it comes to new additions and events — that is, based on the dates we currently have!

• February 20th-24th: Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend

• Select dates February 27th through September 25th: EPCOT After Hours return — see the full dates here!

March 2025

Spring is in FULL BLOOM during March in Disney World!

• March 5th – June 2nd: EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival
• March 11th: Minnie’s Springtime Dine begins at Hollywood & Vine in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

April 2025

April comes in hot with another race weekend and a special event that only SOME Disney fans know about.

• April 3rd-6th: runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend

• April 26th and 27th: Dapper Days in Disney World (parks to be announced)

May 2025

Those famous “May Flowers” are still on display for the ongoing EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival. And, of course, Memorial Day Weekend ushers in the unofficial start of SUMMER!

• May 11th: Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano permanently closes in Disney’s Hollywood Studios to accommodate construction of a new Monsters, Inc. Land in the park. The final day to dine at Mama Melrose’s will be May 10th.
• May 21st: Minnie’s Summertime Dine begins at Hollywood & Vine in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

June 2025

Summer break is ON in June in Walt Disney World! While you can expect rainstorms picking up for the summer season, you can also often anticipate extended hours in the parks to accommodate the increased crowd levels. Let’s see what June of 2025 specifically has on the docket:

• June 8th: Muppet*Vision 3D permanently closes in Disney’s Hollywood Studios to accommodate construction of a new Monsters, Inc. Land in the park. The final day to experience the attraction will be June 7th.
• June 8th: PizzeRizzo permanently closes in Disney’s Hollywood Studios to accommodate construction of a new Monsters, Inc. Land in the park. The final day to dine at PizzeRizzo will be June 7th.

August 2025

Surprise! August heralds in the beginning of AUTUMN to Walt Disney World (albeit, a little early 😉 ) with the arrival of fall decorations on Magic Kingdom’s Main Street, U.S.A. in preparation for the park’s Halloween celebrations! Additionally, the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival typically kicks off in August.

• August 9th: Minnie’s Halloween Dine begins at Hollywood & Vine in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

• August 29th-31st: Destination D23 Expo at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort

November 2025

• November 14th & 15th: Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic

Without Exact Dates

There are also many new additions and events coming to Disney World in 2025 that we don’t have specific dates for just yet, but you still need to keep them on your radar!

• Spaceship Earth Lounge in EPCOT — Late Spring 2025

• Pirates of the Caribbean Lounge in Magic Kingdom — Late 2025

• Villains Show taking the former building that housed Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

• The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure opening in Hollywood Studios in Summer of 2025 (was originally fall 2024 and has been pushed)

• Test Track reopening in EPCOT with new look — Late Summer 2025 

• Zootopia Show at Tree of Life Theater in Animal Kingdom — Winter of 2025

• Closure of Tom Sawyer Island and Liberty Square Riverboat to make way for construction on the Cars-themed land coming to Frontierland in Magic Kingdom — Early 2025

• Additional EPCOT festival dates

• Construction begins on Villains Land in Magic Kingdom (began in late 2024, but could mean the closure of the Walt Disney World Railroad again)
