Sooo
… official news announcing the new Skipper Canteen Jungle Cruise restaurant coming to Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland wasn’t enough for ya?
Well, then, let’s see if THIS does the trick… A REAL, TRUE STAR WARS CANTINA will be coming to both Disney World AND Disneyland as part of the Star Wars-themed Lands announced for BOTH coasts at the D23 Expo! We’ve been dreaming about this for years!
Here is a glimpse of the concept art for the Star Wars Cantina!
Disneyland and Hollywood Studios will be the homes for each 14-acre expansion “where Star Wars characters and their stories come to life.” According to Bob Iger, “We are creating a jaw-dropping new world that represents our largest single themed land expansion ever. These new lands at Disneyland and Walt Disney World will transport guests to a whole new Star Wars planet, including an epic Star Wars adventure that puts you in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance.” [Read more…]

Well, if you weren’t taken enough with what we can see so far of Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar (slated to open in Downtown Disney/Disney Springs this fall), perhaps the latest information from Disney about the upcoming location will whet your appetite…
It’s story time, friends! Here’s a little background on the place… According to Disney, when Jock Lindsey (the frequent pilot of Indiana Jones) flew Indy over Florida while searching for the Fountain of Youth in 1938, he noticed a charming town below and decided to build a home right there on the waterfront. He often entertained his friends from the Society of Explorers and Adventurers in his hangar where they enjoyed drinks and good times.
There seems to be a no-holds-barred approach to the styles of cuisine, as the tapas and beverages will be “inspired by Jock’s globe-trotting to all continents,” which could result in fun twists on anything and everything! In the meantime, Disney has provided a glimpse at some of the eats on the way.
Not only will the decor be inspired by the location’s aviation theme, but it appears some of the plating will, too. Check out the airplane “dish” holding the Pretzels with house-made mustard and beer-cheese fondue…
Dr. Elsa’s She-Deviled Eggs will be topped with lumps of crab and brined in beet juice, while the “Good” Dates will be stuffed with goat cheese and topped with Marcona almonds.
Heavier bites will include Rolling Boulder Sliders: three spice meatball sliders drizzled with yogurt sauce.
But the winner for Best Name (so far) has got to go to the “Squid! Why’d It Have to Be Squid” calamari flatbread with spicy harissa.
Other items will include Brody Brats, Lao Che’s Revenge (spicy Asian wings), Tanis Tacos, and Snack of Ra (African-inspired salads and dips served with bread and naan crisps).
Specialty cocktails will include drinks like The Aviator’s Flight, The Scottish Professor, The Bitter Barkeep (with Peruvian Pisco), a Hovito Mojito, Anything Goes (a spicy cocktail created with an Asian spirit), The Fountain of Youth, featuring Florida vodkas, and a Cool-headed Monkey.
Me? I’ll be ordering a Reggie’s Revenge, with hopes of sipping it while enjoying the waterfront views from Jock’s old dry-docked steamboat…
Looks like plenty of good food and great times are coming to Disney Springs!
What do you think of some of the menu items coming to Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar? Please let us know with a comment!

This past May, fans of the Indiana Jones film franchise were excited to learn about the plans for Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar to join the line-up of new dining venues coming to Disney Springs!
The storyline will revolve around Indiana Jones and his pilot (who serves as the name inspiration for the location), Jock Lindsey. While the menu will feature themed tapas and specialty cocktails, the location itself will be decked out with vintage travel posters, aviation equipment, and even correspondence between Indy and Jock. The opening is anticipated for fall of 2015, and based on a recent visit to the site, progress seems to be coming along very nicely indeed! [Read more…]

In mid-July, menus mysteriously appeared on the My Disney Experience app (viewable only on Android devices at the time) for Minnie’s Holiday & Dine Dinner, which subsequently opened up a flurry of talk about whether a special holiday character meal was coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Now we can happily say that guests will indeed be able to celebrate the season with Minnie, Mickey, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy (in their “all-new holiday finery”!) from November 7, 2015 through January 3, 2016! The dining experience will feature holiday decor, music, and “holiday-themed food and activities.” Guests can book the experience with or without the Fantasmic Dining Package (however, at the time of this posting, only the option including VIP seating for the Fantasmic! nighttime spectacular is bookable online).
Here are all the Merry Details!
Dinner seatings start at 4:30 pm (closing times vary based on the evening’s presentation of Fantasmic! and park close).
Cost to dine without the Fantasmic option is $50.05 for adults (including tax, not gratuity) and $29.81 (including tax, not gratuity) for kids 3-9, and, per a call to WDW-DINE, 1 Table Service credit on the Disney Dining Plan.
Cost to dine with the Fantasmic option is $56.44 for adults (including tax, not gratuity) and, per a call to WDW-DINE, $34.07 (including tax, not gratuity) for kids 3-9, and 1 Table Service credit on the [Read more…]

More seasonal creations out of of L’Artisan des Glaces in Epcot’s France!
You know the drill… just think of the Pumpkin Spice, Peppermint, and Strawberries and Cream Macaron Ice Cream Sandwiches (not to mention the red, white, and blue version of the Vanilla Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich that makes its way around in time for Bastille Day in July) that ring in the flavors — and even colors — of the corresponding holiday or season.
And with (technically) two months of summer left, it’s a great time to enjoy the new Peaches & Cream Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich that just hit the scene.
Housemade Vanilla Ice Cream tucked into a peach macaron…
Now that doesn’t sound like a bad way to celebrate all that’s left of summer at all, does it? [Read more…]
