Summer in Florida is characterized by ridiculous heat and ridiculous humidity, and typically, a lot of rain. So if you’re traveling in the coming weeks and months, you’ll want to be prepared for the extreme weather. But for those going to the parks this week, we’ve got an extra warning for you!
It’s the 4th of July in Disney World — and you know what that means. It means everything is getting a patriotic makeover today.
Cinderella Castle
You’ll see red, white, and blue decor all along Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom. You’ll also see some fun 4th of July treats popping up all over the parks and hotels (pro tip: DON’T GET THE FUNNEL CAKE). The 4th of July fireworks show premiered last night with one final performance tonight in Magic Kingdom. Oh, and the CROWDS have arrived, which might make you think the price of Genie+ would go up today, but guess what? It didn’t!

Target is one of our favorite places to shop for just about anything we might need on our next Disney World trip — we’re talking clothes, park must-haves, snacks, and more. And, right now, you can score serious savings on Disney tees and tanks!
We know — a lot is going on in Disney World right now, and with the grand opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom, you might’ve even forgotten that next week is a holiday!

The 4th of July is right around the corner, and we’re expecting things to be pretty busy in Disney World, especially with Orlando being the #2 travel destination for the busy holiday week. We’ve had some amazing interactions with many of the Disney princesses, Mickey and his friends, Pixar characters, and more. We’ve visited almost all the character meet and greet locations in Disney World, plus we’ve eaten at all of the character dining experiences. However, these special meet-and-greets become even more special when you get to experience a rare one, and we’ve got a SUPER rare meet-and-greet experience to tell you about that is coming up soon.
It’s probably pretty obvious that with summer now in full swing, you’ll probably experience fluctuating wait times, heavier crowds, and even some weird weather patterns in Orlando.

With major airlines and speed trains advertising fare specials around this time, you really could need to plan to pack extra patience and allow for an insurgence of travels.
