It’s currently the week of Christmas, and that means there are tons and tons of people in the parks ready to celebrate. We’re in the parks every single day, so we know a busy day in Magic Kingdom from a BUSY day in Magic Kingdom. Whether you’re planning a trip for next year or just love seeing the chaos, let’s see how Disney World is holding up with the crowds for the end of 2025.

Now, we know many folks dream about a holiday vacation in Disney World, but if you can’t make it, there’s a way to experience one of the best parts of Christmas in Magic Kingdom from home: the ABC Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade. Well, we got to see filming of the parade this year, but now we have all the details about how you can watch it at home.
Trying to plan a Disney World trip during the holiday season can be as difficult as trying to wrangle eels into a bucket — but it doesn’t have to be! And, if you’re heading to Disney World during Christmas this year, we’ve got great news because park hours have just been released for the season.

Planning to spend the holidays in Disney World this year? We totally get it, and so many people have the same idea, which is what makes it one of the most popular times of year to visit.
Magic Kingdom during the holidays
If you’re an Annual Passholder or someone else without a date-based ticket that requires a park pass to get into the parks on most days (other than Good To Go dates for APs), we recommend making those park passes well in advance. That’s for a number of reasons, but mostly because those spots can fill up FAST! Now, we have proof of that, because while it may only be October, park passes are already beginning to sell out for Christmas Day.

Although the parks are sure to be crowded, it’s still fun to spend these holidays in Disney World. Many Disney World restaurants offer special Christmas Day menus PLUS New Year’s Eve brings special entertainment and fireworks to the parks. Park pass reservations aren’t going away for most guests until 2024, which means you might need to secure yours if you want to experience Christmas in Disney World. Generally, crowds in Disney World were a bit weird early in the morning on Christmas, and Individual Lightning Lanes didn’t fill up nearly as quickly as you might have expected. But on top of that, we spotted a long line at an unexpected attraction.
We probably aren’t the first ones to mention that Disney World can get a tad bit busy around the holidays.
People — people, everywhere.
We’ve been keeping up with the crowds and wait times so you know how to prepare for your visit, and while some crowds have surprised us (in being shockingly low), other spots have had big crowds. High crowd levels may tempt you to pay for Genie+ or get Pay-Per-Ride access to Disney World’s most popular attractions. If you’re thinking about trying to get an Individual Lightning Lane for the parks’ most popular rides, you might want to see just how quickly they sold out on Christmas Day!
