We have more refurbishment news to share with you!
We’ve received loads of refurbishment announcements over the last few days! But as a recently redone dining location reopens, another one will be closing.
Liberty Square Market in Magic Kingdom closed for refurbishment in early January.
The quick-service location had walls up starting January 11th, and it’s expected to reopen in February. And in Magic Kingdom today, we spotted something promising!
Ever since Disney Springs reopened on May 20th, more and more restaurants have been opening back up.
But today, we noticed one previously opened establishment was strangely CLOSED!
Disneyland might be in the Christmas swing with decorations and treats galore, but Disney California Adventure is already making its New Year’s Resolutions!
And, this year’s resolution is to give a GREAT restaurant a lil bit of extra love with a few updates!

Oh, could it be?!? Has the Writer’s Stop been given a second chance?!
If you follow Disney news, you’ll likely recall the announcement that the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show attraction will give its final performances on April 2nd in order to make way for construction of the future Toy Story and Star Wars Lands at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
It was subsequently announced that some of the eateries in the same Streets of America section of the park where the attraction is housed would be closing along with it as well. These include Studio Catering Co. and High Octane Refreshments as well as my much-beloved Writer’s Stop.
Home of the famous Carrot Cake Cookie, I also loved Writer’s Stop as an often quiet respite from a busy park. So, though it wasn’t exactly a surprise when its closure was announced, I — like many other like-minded fans — was saddened by the thought.
But it’s possible that there is some VERY good news! According to the folks at wdwmagic.com, Writer’s Stop may remain open for “a limited time” beyond April 2nd! [Read more…]
Recently, we shared the announcement that Kouzzina by Cat Cora at Disney’s BoardWalk resort would be shutting its doors on September 30th at Walt Disney World.
There’s been lots of speculation from our readers and other Kouzzina fans as to why the restaurant will be closing, and on Monday, April 14th, Cat Cora addressed the closure of Kouzzina on Reddit:
“We’re at the end of our contract, and Disney and I want to do more projects together. But this is a really great time for them to focus on a new concept in that space and I can focus on more restaurants around the world. It’s all good, and I’ll still be at the Epcot festival of food & wine this year.”
With official confirmation of the Kouzzina closure as of September 30th, we’re now looking forward to seeing what’s in store for this space.
Fans of Kouzzina are sure to miss the awesome breakfasts! And fans of Cat Cora can mark their calendars for this year’s Epcot Food and Wine Festival! [Read more…]

We got a little bit of news from a DFB reporter today that you may love or hate:
Kouzzina by Cat Cora, the Greek/Mediterranean restaurant located on Disney’s BoardWalk in Walt Disney World, will be closing its doors in September 30, 2014. Kouzzina replaced former Mediterranean restaurant, Spoodles, in 2009.
The spot will be closed in September and re-opened at an unspecified date as another restaurant. No word yet on what type of food will be served, but Cat Cora’s name will not be attached to the new dining location.
