Disney has plenty of ’em up for grabs: they’re inspired by restaurants, our favorite characters, and so much more. But today, we spotted some NEW masks in the parks…and they’re a little different than the norm!
As the situation with the COVID-19 pandemic and COVID-19 vaccinations has continued, we’ve seen the guidelines and regulations from various government entities and even theme parks change.
Face Mask
Recently, we saw a major theme park stop temperature checks and outdoor mask requirements. The CDC has also updated its indoor mask guidance for those who are fully vaccinated. But, now BIG changes have been announced when it comes to the use of mask outdoors.
As the Biden Administration preparing to share updated CDC policies regarding outdoor face mask wearing for individuals who are fully vaccinated, more discussions are taking place when it comes to the continued effectiveness of face mask wearing in combination with physical distancing.

In an effort to provide more information on the subject, University of Central Florida teamed up with The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) to conduct a study that examined speech and cough events and how far away from the individual droplets and aerosols traveled from those coughs or speaking.

Disney World has changed their face mask policy a few times over the last few months.
What Do You Think of This Mask?
Recently, Disney announced a BIG change in its mask policy when it comes to photos. Previously, guests had to keep on their masks at all times (except when actively eating and drinking while stationary and physically distanced from others) — and that meant that masks had to be kept on while taking photos. Disney just made a change to that policy when it comes to outdoor photos and today we got to experience it in action.

Disneyland has announced that the parks will be reopening on April 30th for California residents. We’ve previously shared some ticket purchasing guidelines, but now, we’ve got even more details about the BIG reopening.
Disney World has been adapting its safety guidelines alongside the ongoing pandemic.

Currently, there are safety procedures in place for mask-wearing and social distancing throughout the parks. But now, an important update has been made regarding these policies.
Recently, we’ve seen changes made to Disney’s face mask policy regarding dining and we’ve seen stickers added to photo spots in Disney World reminding guests to keep their masks on.
Festival Mask
At the moment, there is a face mask mandate in Orange County, Florida, where part of Disney World is located. And now the Mayor of Orange County has commented on when that mandate might be lifted.
