Some big changes are coming to Disney World in 2026, and they’ll be here before you know it!

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster

A lot is happening that will cause closures in Disney World to the point that some people are considering 2026 to be a skippable year at the theme park resort. In fact, Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be home to plenty of those changes, including a notable closure set to begin in March 2026. Let’s see how this massive closure (and several others) might affect your upcoming Disney World vacation.

Disney World Files NEW Permit for Changes at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster

A lot is happening right now in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Animation Courtyard is getting completely reimagined and will soon become The Walt Disney Studios. Muppets Courtyard is pretty much gone, and that space is being converted into a new Monsters, Inc. land.

Meanwhile, the Muppets are going to move over to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster to take over that ride. Now, Disney World recently filed a new permit for work on that ride…so the Muppets are coming SOON!

The Muppets Are Giving Advice, and You Can BET We’re Listening!

Anytime we need a bit of a pick-me-up, we often turn to The Muppets, because they never fail to make us laugh!

While we’re looking forward to the new Monsters, Inc. Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we’re missing Muppets Courtyard already, since we can’t see some of our favorite characters in the park as easily now. We can still find our fair share of the Muppets online, though, which we appreciate, especially when they’re giving us running tips!

We don’t want to argue, but we’re just going to say that we think that The Muppet Christmas Carol is not only one of the best adaptations of Charles Dickens’ original story, but also one of the best Christmas movies ever made.

I’m Suddenly DREADING This Hollywood Studios Ride Change

There’s A LOT happening right now at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and I’m worried that not all of it is good.

Hollywood Studios is going to look mighty different in the near future as the park continues to evolve. The Magic of Disney Animation will reimagine Animation Courtyard in 2026, while the MASSIVE Monsters, Inc. Land project is currently underway, transforming Muppets Courtyard into Disney World’s very own Monstropolis (Disney’s first-ever suspended coaster included!). While The Muppets are being kicked out of their, they aren’t truly leaving Hollywood Studios — instead hopping over to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. While this change is exciting and welcome, there’s one big caveat that has us incredibly worried that the ride’s reimaging could be a complete letdown.

Disney World Set To Announce 2 MORE Ride Closures

Big changes are coming to Disney World, and some of them might sting a little.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster

Disney has already been in the middle of a huge transformation across multiple parks, and now it looks like two more fan-favorite attractions will soon be added to the closure list. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith and DINOSAUR are both scheduled to close in 2026, though Disney hasn’t given us official closure dates yet. The timing here is critical, because both rides are tied to massive park transformations — one featuring The Muppets and the other tied to the new Tropical Americas land at Animal Kingdom.
