Welcome to Wine Country!
Sure, Eating and Drinking Around the World is a MUST DO at the 2015 Epcot Food and Wine Festival. But don’t forget to save time for the shopping too!
Of course, there’s a TON of Festival Merch available this year — just like always.
But I mostly wanted to share with you the really special stuff that’s available to mark this year’s milestone 20th Anniversary.
Let’s take a look!
Whether you’d like to wear your souvenir or eat and drink off of it, you’ll find just the right piece to take home with you.
Grey, long-sleeved T-Shirts bear the main logo of the 2015 20th Anniversary Festival.
We found a slightly different version in a short-sleeved, burgundy model as well. [Read more…]
Well, here’s a new one for ya… how about starting your day UNDER THE STARS at Sci-Fi Dine-In Restaurant?
Yep, the perpetual evening setting of Sci-Fi Dine-In Restaurant is now the latest breakfast stop at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! This long-time, well-loved lunch and dinner spot is now offering a limited-run meal: guests can give breakfast a try at Sci-Fi Dine-In, currently available for booking from now until January 23, 2016 with seatings from 8:00 – 10:15 am. [EDITOR’S UDPATE: Please note that the trial run of breakfast at Sci-Fi Restaurant has ended, and at this point the option has not been renewed.]
Of course, this isn’t Sci-Fi’s first time serving up the most important meal of the day. For the past two years, it has played host to the Star Wars Dine-In Galactic Breakfast, a character meal held in conjunction with Star Wars Weekends. But Darth Vader and his Dark Side cronies stayed in a galaxy far, far away this go ‘round. The current breakfast offering is a non-character meal featuring pre-fixe selections.
Are you ready to check it out?
Then, here we go! [Read more…]
We are back with Episode 25 of the DFB Podcast and it’s time to talk about dining with kids at Disney World and Disneyland!
What’s It About?
In this episode AJ and Brad talk kids! We’re pretty sure we’re going to have about seven thousand podcasts about dining with your kids in the parks and resorts, but here’s our first crack at it…and it’s a doozy!
Dive in and listen as the hosts discuss licking or not licking the mashed potato spoon at buffets, why you want to go to Coral Reef with your kids, how to make sure you have the best character meal experience you possibly can, and more in Episode 25 of the DFB Podcast!
FYI — be prepared for explicit language!! Brad says H-E-Double-Hockey-Sticks in this episode!! It’s getting crazy up in here!
Recently while in Walt Disney World, a friend and I had some time to kill between events. So we decided to stop into Mizner’s Lounge for a little refreshment.
Mizner’s Lounge is located in the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. This beautiful bar and lounge is a relaxing place to unwind any time of the day. But I especially love it in the evenings, when you can catch the Grand Floridian Society Orchestra playing.
You’ll find Mizner’s tucked back into one end of the second floor at the Grand. Its location off the beaten path means that it’s usually on the quiet side here. You don’t just “happen upon” Mizner’s. You have to actually go to it.
Since I’m usually here after dark, I decided to take a look around and get a few photos of it for you during the day.
Mizner’s, along with the rest of the Grand, underwent a little refresh a few years back. The overall effect is still elegant, but it’s a lot less formal. And check out the views of the beautiful Grand Floridian grounds from the lounge’s windows! [Read more…]
DFB is welcoming guest author Lori Hope with a review of the PCH Grill. Nestled in Disneyland’s Paradise Pier Hotel, this restaurant serves up breakfast and dinner. Today, we are checking out the bonfire buffet, which debuted this Summer!
Disney’s PCH Grill at Disneyland’s Paradise Pier has created a delicious Beach Side Bonfire nightly buffet. We usually head to Storytellers Cafe, but we were staying at Paradise Pier and we are always excited to try something new. Paradise Pier is a bit out of the way if you are in the parks, but it is just at the end of Downtown Disney so it isn’t too far.
We made an advance dining reservation, but it was not too crowded when we went. The staff greeted us right away and we had no issues adding another guest to our party.
Can you believe it? We are already nearly halfway through the 2015 Epcot Food and Wine Festival!
But this event, which is marking its 20th anniversary this year, is more than just the biggest food event on the Disney calendar. It also ushers in some of the most wonderful times of the year to visit Disney!
And with Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, the Festival, and other Fall and Winter Holiday treats around the bend, you won’t want to miss a single picture, description, or bite of the yum.
So there’s never been a better — or more important — time for dedicated Disney Food Fans to be clued in to the very best source for all of your Disney Food News.
And that’s why you should join the DFB Newsletter today!
Yes! Why? It’s simple: there’s SO much happening at Disney. And sometimes, especially when it comes to breaking news like Free Dining Offers or Brand New Restaurants or Special Events, it’s important to get the news as soon as possible. And that’s where the DFB Newsletter comes in. [Read more…]
Earlier this week, we had the chance to check out a sneak preview of some of the wonderful offerings at the 2015 Walt Disney Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic.
The Swan and Dolphin Resorts’ companion event to the 2015 Epcot Food and Wine Festival kicks off TONIGHT! And if you haven’t gotten your tickets already, no worries — you can purchase them at the Will Call Table.
The Food and Wine Classic consists of two different offerings. You can attend informative seminars, where you can learn about everything from Cheese Pairings and Pasta Making to Wine Blending and how to make the perfect Caipirinha!
But there’s also the Causeway Grandtasting. Set up between the two resorts, the Causeway offers tasting-size portions of special dishes that represent all of the resort’s restaurants. There are also additional areas highlighting the diverse talents of the Swan and Dolphin Culinary Team.
I have plenty of new stuff to share with you, and there are some great food and drinks returning. Let’s take a look around at what the Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic has to offer this year!
will be a brand new addition to this year’s Food and Wine Classic! The area, inspired by sweets and treats from childhood, will showcase the Swan and Dolphin Food Trucks/Trailers.
In this special area, guests can enjoy four different fun foods: Mac and Cheese, Corn Dogs, Funnel Cakes, and Nitro Kettle Corn! [Read more…]
One of my favorite times of the year in Walt Disney World will start happening soon, as we start to see all of the decor, souvenirs, and especially food items that announce “Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!”
It seems like everywhere you look during November and December, the Parks and Resorts transform to a (warm) Winter Wonderland! And it’s enough to make the kid inside me giddy. [Read more…]
Hold on to your evil hats, Disney Villains fans… because it looks like Club Villain is on the way to Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
Club Villain has appeared on the Walt Disney World website, offering a brand new “dance-and-dine event,” which will hit the scene on January 16, 2016 and continue on select Saturday nights at Sunset Showcase. [Read more…]
