News and Review: Columbia Harbour House Shrimp Fest

OK, so Columbia Harbour House doesn’t really have a “Shrimp Fest.” I just sort of created one on my recent visit by ordering ALL. THE. SHRIMPS!!!! ;-D Coming right up? Shrimp and Chicken, Fried Shrimp, and Shrimp Mac & Cheese! (Yes, I forgive you if you scroll ahead to see that last one.)

Tucked into a perfectly themed corner of Liberty Square in the Magic Kingdom, Columbia Harbour House has a strong and devoted following.

With its menu of consistently popular choices — lots of healthier, lighter, vegetarian choices along with some hearty fish and chips — and its impeccable theming, Columbia Harbour House is a great place to cool down and fuel up when you’re touring the Magic Kingdom.

And its location is ideal. It’s a short walk from Frontierland, a stone’s throw from the Haunted Mansion, and holds court in Liberty Square (just before it morphs into Fantasyland around the corner).

This place is Americana architecture at its finest.

Atmosphere

The interior of Columbia Harbour House reinforces the exterior theming (at least that part of the facade that faces Liberty Square). It heavily features wood, from the furniture to the walls.

Disney Food Post Round-Up: March 5, 2017

Happy weekend and welcome to March! We’re so excited that it’s finally March because that means the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival has started. And that means food, lots of delicious food (and of course flowers).

We were there on opening day for the 2017 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival with its Outdoor Kitchens! We have all the menus and food photos for you!!

At the end of the week we’re headed to the 2017 Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival. Check out the full booth menus for the DCA Food and Wine Festival!

And don’t forget, the 2017 Epcot Food and Wine Festival starts in August this year! Whew! We’re going to be a very busy bunch here at DFB!

News and Review: Buffalo Chicken Chips at Trilo-Bites in Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom is alive with activity lately, and the hits just keep on coming!

Last year we were celebrating the grand opening of Tiffins and Nomad Lounge (hello, deliciousness amidst some of the most pristine decor we’ve ever seen!), and still 2017 is shaping up to be even more incredible.

We’ve got Pandora — The World of AVATAR, people! In just about three months! And with this new area of the park comes two new restaurants: Pongu Pongu and Satu’li Canteen.

And Rivers of Light! With dining packages! And seats (well, a helpful video about scoring seats)!

But we’re always on the lookout for new dishes at our old favorites, so on a recent visit, we stopped at Trilo-Bites.

You know Trilo-Bites as a seasonal (e.g. hardly ever open) counter service stop in Dinoland, land of the giant cartoon dinos and carnival-style games. Trilo-Bites’ previous menu goodie was the Pulled Buffalo Chicken Waffle Sandwich, which was truly awesome. This time, we discovered another Buffalo chicken incarnation: Buffalo Chicken Chips.

It truly is one of the most beautiful times of the year at Epcot, now that the 2017 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival has officially begun!

From now through May 29th, Epcot guests will enjoy over seventy Disney-themed topiaries all over the park, special exhibits and seminars for all the Green Thumbs (and those aspiring Green Thumbs!) out there, and the Garden Rocks Concert Series (complete with Dining Packages this year). Review: The New Chuck Wagon Fresh Fixin’s Food Truck at Fort Wilderness Campground

There’s a new place to grab some grub at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.

And it might be the single coolest thing we’ve seen at Disney World in quite some time… Welcome to the Chuck Wagon!

This new food truck is serving up Counter Service-style eats on its Fresh Fixin’s menu to all the Happy Campers at Fort Wilderness from 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM Saturdays through Mondays, and from 5:00 – 9:00 PM Tuesdays through Fridays. This here’s also the spot where you can grab some classic camping snacks (S’mores!). Oh, and some of those Fort Wilderness Moonshine Cocktails, too!

But to load up on some of these treats, you gotta know where to find ’em first. So join us on our jaunt to visit the Chuck Wagon! Though you may be surprised to learn it’s not actually a wagon at all.

So then, what is it?
