Welcome back, members of the Jedi (or the Sith). We’re here with another What’s New at Hollywood Studios!
We’ve got plenty of merchandise, food, and entertainment updates to share with you, so let’s jump into hyperspace and dive into this What’s New!
Hollywood Studios Food Update
The Rise of Skywalker is officially in theaters, completing the trilogy that we’ve grown to love over the past few years. And, even though it’s the end of the saga (getting emotional just thinking about it), you can celebrate your favorite band of heroes with the Wookiee Cookie at Backlot Express! Has a nice ring to it, don’t you think?
The sandwich comes with two Chewie (we couldn’t help ourselves) oatmeal cookies with a fluffy whoopie-pie cream filling and a chocolate bar on top that looks like Chewbacca’s bandolier! P.S. It’s so good, it makes us want to say, “Rrrrrrr-ghghghghgh!”
On top of all the exciting environmental changes coming to Disney Parks and Resorts, Fairfax Fare is upping the game from paper straws to compostable bowls!
Although other spots like Catalina Eddie’s and Rosie’s All American Cafe are still using the regular round Disney plates and paper boats, the compostable bowls might be making their way around the parks soon! So, be on the look-out for them!
Hollywood Studios Merchandise Update
If you don’t want to see spoilers for The Rise of Skywalker, scroll past this part of this What’s New (and over to Baby Yoda).
Dok-Ondar’s is leaning a lil more towards the Light Side of the Force, since the store is now carrying TWO new lightsabers from a hero and a redeemed used-to-be villain!
After Luke‘s old lightsaber was destroyed in the epic Force battle between Kylo Ren and Rey during The Last Jedi, Rey uses the ancient Jedi texts to repair it in The Rise of Skywalker! Thanks to our girl Rey, the Reforged Skywalker Lightsaber looks as great as ever for $129.99 (Luke would be so proud!).
While Kylo Ren might be the persona built to “let the past die,” deep down the villain is still Ben Solo at heart. And, we all know where his journey leads him during the new film (we won’t give away any BIG spoilers here!). In honor of Han and Leia‘s boy, you can get Ben Solo’s Lightsaber for $139.99 — yeah, we’re talking about the one that he used when he was training with Luke during The Last Jedi! You can find out why this is sooo important by seeing The Rise of Skywalker in theaters now!
Okay, okay! SPOILERS OVER (for now)! Let’s keep moving along.
While we were in Galaxy’s Edge, we couldn’t help but stop by Toydarian Toymaker to see if Baby Yoda was there. Although he’s still missing (come back!!)…
…we did spot a Christmas droid at the Droid Depot!
We decided to name him MC-19 (Merry Christmas 2019, friends!!) to celebrate the holidays! (Totes not his real name, but c’mon it’s cute!)
After our stroll through the galaxy, we returned to Hollywood Boulevard to visit Celebrity 5 & 10! And, we’re feeling pretty dapper just looking at the Retro Mickey and Minnie Kitchen Collection. While we’ve already seen plates, mugs, canisters, pot holders, and MORE, now we’ve fallen in love with the Minnie Cherry Pie Dish!
You can have your own sweet pie baked up in this blue dish, featuring Minnie in her adorable lil dress…
…a red and white checkered pattern on the sides…
…and even some of the same pattern around the bottom for $34.99! Now, we’re just really craving some cherry pie. How about you??
Here comes the bride, all dressed in white! If you’re spending your Happily Ever After at Disney World, sometimes you want to show off your new rings AND a new pair of ears! That’s why the updated Bride Mickey Ears Hat is the perfect way to celebrate life as a newlywed.
The Bride Ears come with a sparkly crystal tiara…
…LOTS of glitter (which we obviously love)…
…and a long veil to complete the look for $27.99! We spotted the matching Groom Ears earlier this week, so now you can grab the set! Can we have Poe Dameron as our groom pls??? 😉
Legends of Hollywood serves up some iconic lewks, and there’s nothing more classic than the AristoCats! And, everybody wants to be a cat with the NEW AristoCats Dress!
The collar reminds us that Marie is a lady (and deserves to be treated the BEST)…
…while Toulouse and Berlioz have to listen to their sister give them a lil talk about R-E-S-P-E-C-T!
You can also spot O’Malley and Duchess intertwining their tails in front of the Eiffel Tower (ahhh, l’amour!) on the skirt!
To complete the ensemble for $128, there’s a giant pink bow around the waist (a la Marie!)…
…with our favorite sassy kitten pouting for attention. ‘Cause same.
Plus, if you’re looking for something to pair with the dress, you can put all your French pastries in the AristoCats Purse for $65! Très magnifique!
While the Magical Express or Disney buses can be useful transportation tools during your vacation, the Minnie Van service is a great way to get around the parks in style. And, you can take a bit of your time in Disney World home with the Minnie Van Toy at Mickey’s of Hollywood! The sides feature the same red and white polka dot design that the real cars have…
…the Minnie Van logo…
…and even a little Chevrolet icon on the back for $9.99! Do you think Lyft would let us call one of these instead??
Hollywood Studios Entertainment Update
Pilots, it’s go time! We’re hopping on the Starspeeder 1000 and blasting off across the galaxy with C-3PO and R2-D2 during the NEW The Rise of Skywalker scenes at Star Tours!
In honor of the new film, your journey will cause you to crash into the ocean on Kef Bir (y’know, where the Death Star rests in pieces)…
…where you’ll escape some Dianogas (they’re not as cute as this DFB rendition, though)!
Buuut, then you’ll be asked to fight for the Resistance by Lando Calrissian himself (um, awesome!!) as you make your way through The Rise of Skywalker‘s final battle scene and to the Star Port for a crash landing.
We have good news though! There will be over 100 different combinations of scenes for this ride, like one where we meet Rey in Jakku!
SECOND SPOILER ALERT!! Scroll past this last bit of our What’s New to avoid last-minute The Rise of Skywalker details!
Cue the Star Wars theme ’cause Star Wars Launch Bay is bringing YOU into the newest film with The Rise of Skywalker Exhibit!
While we’ll avoid giving away too many details here, we can tell you that you’ll be able to step into the Star Wars universe to look at helmets from new troopers and soldiers…
…new armor and weapons for the First Order…
…Poe’s latest outfit and fighter, a new droid (hi, D-O!!)…
…and even a few details about new characters and old pasts in the exhibit!
Well, that’s all for this What’s New at Hollywood Studios! We’ll catch you next time for more merchandise, entertainment, and food updates!
