At the beginning of 2021, Disneyland announced that they would be discontinuing the Annual Passholder program and replacing it with a new membership option.
Until that new membership option became available, Disney fans with active Annual Passholder memberships as of March 14th, 2020 were transitioned directly into the Legacy Passholder Program. This program gave members discounts on food and merchandise all around Disneyland until a new program could be introduced. Yesterday we found out Disneyland was going to announce their new Annual Pass program, and it’s finally here! We have the details about WHEN you can buy Disneyland annual passes again!
Disneyland just announced their Magic Key Program, which is the name of their new program for ALL annual passes.
The passes will go on sale on August 25th, 2021 no earlier than 10AM PT. So mark your calendars, people!! There are 4 different kinds of “keys” (AKA tiers) including the Dream Key, Believe Key, Enchant Key, and Imagine Key.
If you’re purchasing on August 25th, your first opportunity to reserve a visit to Disneyland park or Disney California Adventure will be that same day!
Disney said that for a limited time, they will be celebrating the charter members that become Magic Key holders within the first 66 days (celebrating Disneyland’s 66th anniversary). If you’re one of the first people to become a part of the new program, you “will receive a special welcome package that will include unique items such as a premium branded pin, celebratory button, magnet, and more!”
And, Magic Key holders who enter Disneyland park will also have access to a limited-time experience at Starcade in Tomorrowland (which starts September 1st) where they can use charging stations, have a special photo opportunity, and “other fun surprises” according to Disney.
Monthly payment plans for the new annual passes are ONLY for California residents. You can purchase your Magic Key pass through Disneyland.com and on the Disneyland app, where you will have access to an interactive admission calendar for your pass type to see reservation availability and book your reservation.
We’ll have details about the program soon, so stay tuned to DFB to learn more!
