Deciding on where to eat in Disney World is about to become much, much more difficult.
With so many incredible dining locations throughout the property, it can be hard to choose exactly where you want to eat. From old favorites like ‘Ohana and California Grill to newcomers like Connections Eatery and Space 220, we’re often faced with the most difficult — yet delicious — decisions. Disney recently announced a brand new restaurant would be coming to Disney Springs in 2023, but that’s not the only new eatery on the horizon. We’re taking you through ALL the NEW restaurants that have been announced for Disney World!
When it comes to dining around Disney World, there’s something for just about everyone. Craving Mexican cuisine? There’s a pavilion in EPCOT for that. Want to dine with characters? You can do that too. But there are some NEW dining experiences coming to Disney World that we’re pretty excited about, so let’s dig in!
NEW Restaurants NOW OPEN
Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya
A brand new restaurant is NOW OPEN in EPCOT’s Japan pavilion: Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya!
The menu features “Japanese delights like sushi and teppan items,” plus an open sushi bar and grill. Sushi fans can enjoy the Kobore Sushi, Tokyo Negi Roll, and Funamori. Not only that, but you can enjoy Japanese Izakaya, a type of casual pub-style restaurant that puts an emphasis on drinks and conversations with friends.
The restaurant is located in the Japan Pavilion, on the second floor — above the Mitsukoshi Department Store (where Tokyo Dining was previously located), so it offers the same fireworks views that guests loved at Tokyo Dining!

NEW Restaurant STILL TO COME
Summer House on the Lake and The Cookie Jar
Disney has announced that Summer House on the Lake will open in “late 2023” at Disney Springs. The new restaurant “embodies a breezy, beach house vibe that will pair perfectly with the sweeping views of Lake Buena Vista.”
The menu for the new spot is inspired by California, with everything from pizza and pasta to fresh salads and sandwiches. The restaurant will serve its own Summer House Rosé along with a selection of wine, beer, handcrafted cocktails, and non-alcoholic drinks. You can enjoy all these offerings on one of the three expansive patios.
And tucked inside Summer House on the Lake you’ll find The Cookie Jar!
The Cookie Jar is “a dessert-focused market” that serves “freshly baked cookies and house-made pastries.” Yep, you read that correctly — there will be an entire cookie market at Summer House on the Lake!

The Cake Bake Shop
The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers will be coming to Disney’s BoardWalk in early 2024 (a delay from its initially announced opening of 2023), and will serve more than just cakes. The table service restaurant is expected to also have savory items, and in the afternoons guests can enjoy a spot of tea.
According to The Cake Bake Shop’s website, the restaurant will feature “a whimsical atmosphere that complements the magic of the idyllic charm of Disney’s BoardWalk that guests know and love.” We’re personally waiting on the edge of our seats. We had the opportunity to interview the owner of The Cake Bake Shop and got some exclusive and insider details on the new location. Read the interview here!

While we wait for the official Disney World menu to be released, let’s mention a few that we’ve tried at the Downtown Disney location, like the Mexican Street Corn Dog, a Christmas Corn Dog, and even a Golden Dragon Corn Dog! We’ll keep you posted on this exciting addition which will arrive on Disney’s BoardWalk later this year!
New Dining Locations at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
Disney has also announced that the Polynesian Village Resort will be getting additional dining locations in 2024 as part of the hotel’s massive expansion. Brand new structures will be constructed that will house new Disney Vacation Club Villas along with retail locations and dining options.
Unfortunately, that’s about all that Disney has shared in terms of details about what we can expect from the new dining options at the Polynesian. Construction has begun, though, so hopefully we will get some updates soon!
