Disney World is going through a historic transformation, but over at Disneyland Resort, things are changing too!
Mickey’s ToonTown is being revamped, and Tarzan’s Treehouse is getting an upgrade as well. If you’re planning a trip to Disneyland in early 2023, there are some ride closures you might want to know about!
Previously, WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure was set to close for refurbishment on January 9th, 2023. The good news is that the refurbishment closure for that ride appears to have been canceled, but other rides WILL be closing in January of 2023. Let’s go through those now.
Indiana Jones Adventure is closing for refurbishment on January 9th, according to the Disneyland calendar. As of now, an official opening date is not listed and it indicates the attraction will reopen in “spring 2023.”
Indiana Jones Adventure is a thrilling ride that takes guests through a classic Indy trek where you’ll find yourself in all sorts of predicaments including molten lava, mummies, giant insects, snakes — and of course, a massive rolling boulder.
Grizzly River Run will close on January 9th and reopen sometime in the spring, and The Disney Gallery and Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln will close on January 9th with no reopening dates listed.
Starting January 9th, “it’s a small world” Holiday will also be closing for refurbishment. It’ll then reopen as the traditional “it’s a small world” ride. No reopening date has been announced for this ride yet.
And there’s a few more, but they close a little later in the month. On January 17th, Radiator Springs Racers will be closing in Disney California Adventure for refurbishment. The ride does not yet have a reopening date.
Mickey’s PhilharMagic is also closing this month on January 24th, 2023. The 3D show does not have a current end date for this refurbishment, but we’ll be on the lookout.
We’ll keep checking the Disneyland website for additional information about these closures and when we can expect any of these attractions to reopen. For more Disneyland news, see the latest ticket deal that was just announced and the return date of the “Magic Happens” parade here.
