Disney fans, buckle up — we’re right in the middle of D23, announcements are flying in FAST, and Disney World is already changing in ways you did not expect. We just got a first look INSIDE the new Encanto ride, a birds-eye view of the whole model for Piston Peak coming to Magic Kingdom, and even a little sneak peek at Villains Land! Also Bob Iger is buying the Lakers?! That was not on my bingo card. I think you’ll find that a LOT of this wasn’t!

This year’s Horizons Disney Experiences Showcase is set for August 15th at Anaheim’s Honda Center. The panel will be hosted by legendary actor and Disney fan Neil Patrick Harris. The bi-annual event is always loaded with new Disney news, and this year will surely be no exception. There is a litany of current projects we’re hoping to hear updates on, plus our fingers crossed for some further announcements! These are some of the things we’re hoping to hear about!

Two New Celebrities Announced for Disney’s ‘Hexed’

We’re rolling, people — quiet on set! In this scene, a group of Disney’s biggest fans sits in quiet anticipation as a fancy executive walks on stage. Then, they bring out celebrities for the next big Disney movie, and the audience erupts in cheers. Aaaand, cut! That’s a wrap. But guess what? That little story we directed for you is actually pretty realistic: In fact, it just happened!

Disney has so many great movies coming out in 2026, but we’re super excited for Hexed. The animated coming-of-age fantasy film stars Hailee Steinfeld, but Disney hasn’t announced too many details. But that just changed, because Disney released some casting updates at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Experience!

Disney JUST Shared A Brand NEW Look At ‘Frozen 3’

We’re not ready to “let it go,” which is why we were so excited when Frozen‘s Idina Menzel first commented on the potential of a third Frozen film in 2022. Then Josh Gad teased his return as Olaf in a new Frozen movie in 2023 after then-Disney CEO Bob Iger announced a third movie.

Eventually, Disney revealed that Frozen 3 would release on November 24th, 2027. We got to see some concept art of the new movie, but since then, it’s been mostly crickets…until now. Yes, Disney has FINALLY offered up some new details about the new Frozen movie! Including some new concept art and some hints at the plot!

NEWS: Disney Announces NEW Animated Movie Coming in 2028

Disney has made LOTS of announcements about upcoming movies and TV shows at the Disney Entertainment panel at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. From a new trailer for Avengers: Doomsday to the official announcement of Zootopia 3, we have been getting more and more excited about everything that is coming soon.

The Newest ‘Star Wars’ Movie Will Be On Our Screens NEXT Year

We’re at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event all this weekend, and we’re STOKED to hear all the exciting news about what Disney has coming down the pipeline.

Some of the announcements we expect to hear will be about the Disney parks, but others will be about the new media they’re working on. One of the films we’ve been waiting to hear more about is the new Star Wars: Starfighter film, and now we finally know that this movie will be released in theaters on May 28th, 2027!

The Season 2 Trailer for ‘Ahsoka’ on Disney+ Just Dropped
