Whew! After basically 4 hours of mega-meal, we’ve finally wrapped up our first foray into Takumi-Tei in Epcot’s Japan!

AAAAAH! It’s HERE! One of the highly anticipated NEW restaurants in Epcot is finally soft opening and we can’t WAIT to bring you inside! Ready to head into Takumi-Tei? Let’s go!
Takumi-Tei Restaurant Menu
The newest, signature restaurant in the Japan pavilion is soft opening for the first time today, and we couldn’t wait to report for you.

Takumi-Tei, which means “House of the Artisan,” is a signature restaurant. In Disney-speak, that translates to a high-end, two-credit option on the Disney Dining Plan…and a date night must-do for sure!
Takumi-Tei Front Entrance
As is the case with many Japanese restaurants, the atmosphere and experience of the architecture and decor is as much a part of the meal as the food. In speaking with the manager, we found that that the entrance way at Takumi-Tei represents a passageway between Epcot and Japan.
at Disney Springs is a great place to kick back with a drink like the Boiler Mule Cocktail — or to alternately snack AND be weirded out with a delicious (though expensive) piece of their Clothesline Candied Bacon.
The Edison
But, lately, this location has been stepping up their burger game thanks to their burgers of the month. With previous options like the BBQ Tavern Burger and The Mozzarella Madness Burger, we’re always excited to see what they’re going to come up with next.
Last month, the clean buy-out of Impossible “meat” by a chain restaurant meant that the Impossible burger of the month was a wash-out at the Edison; but they’re coming in strong in July with a brand new option… .

from Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
Time to visit one of our favorite character dining locations: Tusker House! Tusker House is located in Animal Kingdom’s African village of Harambe and offers a character buffet for breakfast and lunch and a “family style dinner buffet” (really just a buffet — no family style service), also with characters!
One added element of dining at Tusker House is the opportunity to reserve the Rivers of Light Dining Package here, which saves a seat at Animal Kingdom’s newly-revamped Rivers of Life: We Are One nighttime spectacular. Generally, the price differential between the character meal and the dining package is pretty small here, so you may find it’s worth the slight splurge to score that reserved seating.
We weren’t after the Dining Package this time, but we sure were excited to see if the food and experience at Tusker House lived up to its past quality. And we ended up eating TWO full meals at once, which we really didn’t expect! (Read on to find out how we did it!)

Tusker House is a charming restaurant located on your left-hand side in Harambe as you head toward Kilimanjaro Safaris. Check in is at a stand near the Dawa Bar, and you’ll be given a pager. Here you’re welcome to glance at the menu — but keep in mind it’s pretty generic because it’s a buffet! (Don’t worry: we’ll get more specific, and we have photos of EVERYTHING below!)

is the table service restaurant offering at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort.
This eatery opened last October as extensive renovations at the Moderate Resort came to an end. Our first visit to Sebastian’s was fine (see our review and first look here!), but we weren’t exactly rushing back to try it. For starters, although it’s a lovely restaurant, it’s off the beaten path a bit if you’re not staying at the resort.
But the food also didn’t knock our socks off. It was good, but it wasn’t great. Our advice at the time was not to go out of your way to try it, but that you might give the Caribbean-inspired dishes a whirl if you were nearby.
Would our most recent dinner change this recommendation? Or is Sebastian’s at risk of sinking under the sea? The restaurant has already closed its lunch offering, so now it’s open only for dinner.
