After Disney announced that the After Hours Boo Bash event would replace Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party, we wondered if a similar change would take place for the holidays and today that was confirmed. So, now the real question is just how this new Disney Very Merriest After Hours event differs when compared to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Today, we’re breaking that all down for you right here.
Today was a HUGE day for Disney World!
When Disney World reopened last year, much of the live entertainment was suspended. But then we got the news that Festival of the Lion King would return to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. And today, the show returned for a soft reopening, and WE WERE THERE!
A lot changed after Disney World reopened this summer. We’ve seen several BIG events get canceled, while others, such as EPCOT’s International Food and Wine Festival, have been altered to account for new health and safety guidelines.
We recently learned that EPCOT’s Festival of the Holidays is still very much a GO but, like the Food and Wine Fest, it’s going to be different from previous years. Don’t worry, though — the Holiday Cookie Stroll is still on! Whew! We shared a lot of new information regarding the Festival of the Holidays today, and some of it was pretty unexpected. Here’s what you might have missed…
Listen. I don’t know who needs to hear this, but the world is very different right now, mmm-kay? And eating INDOORS where it’s super PEOPLE-Y and there’s all that RECIRCULATED AIR may not be your favorite activity at the moment.
If you’re nodding your head right now (and, tbh, even if you’re not, because this place is worthwhile regardless of your current global pandemic status), settle in to hear about our recent favorite hangout in Disney World to eat OUTSIDE in the fresh, un-contaminated air!
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is a beautiful resort inspired by national parks and cabins in the Pacific Northwest. It’s here you’ll find rustic eats, a breathtaking lobby, and even a real (well, Disney-real) geyser! We recently stopped by to take in the grand architecture and share some bites at Geyser Point Bar and Grill. Take a walk in the woods with us as we rustle up some grub!
We’ll be honest, there were a few modifications we were already a feeling a little apprehensive about before we arrived at Magic Kingdom yesterday.
One of the biggest changes we were having a hard time wrapping our heads around was the new Character Cavalcades at Disney World. A while ago, Disney told us they would be replacing their standard entertainment offerings with these unscheduled performances since character meet and greets, parades, and firework shows will be returning at a later time.
