Okay, maybe it’s a little on the hot side — but we still braved the heat and headed into Disney World’s flagship park this week! Now, we’re bringing you allll the news from Magic Kingdom in construction and merchandise!
Character cavalcades are one of our favorite new things that Disney World has added to the parks since reopening.

We love the surprise element of not knowing which characters we might see next and how they just randomly turn up. And they are just SO much fun! And we’ve even got a new one to look forward to for Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration that starts later this year!

We’ve got a LOT of news about this year’s brand-new Disney After Hours BOO Bash, the Halloween event that’s set to replace Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in the Magic Kingdom. We’ve already taken a look at how rides, dining, and more have been affected by the parks’ reopening. But what’s Disney without characters, right?! We’ve seen quite a few of ’em already during A Touch of Disney at Disney California Adventure, but we’re so excited to see more. We’ve kept ya in the loop as Disney announced which characters would return to the parks, and today’s the day…we FINALLY get to say hello!
You may not know exactly when a character is going to parade through the parks nowadays, but Disney Character Cavalcades have made for a fun surprise in the parks.

Because Disney doesn’t want people crowding together in the parks, they’ve implemented these sporadic mini-parades so you still can say hi to some of your favorite Disney characters. And, it’s (mostly) working! We’ve been stumbling upon them in Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom for a while now, so we’ve got some tips on the BEST spots to catch them when they’re on their most unique form of transportation — boats!

Earlier today, we saw some RARE characters: Moana, Mulan, and all FIVE of the Hundred Acre Wood friends! Sure, we love the normal character cavalcades and random encounters around the parks, but it was pretty fun to see Disney switchin’ it up. And today, those cavalcades were looking a little different…because they had some new pals onboard!
It’s a JOY to see our favorite Disney friends in the parks!
Character Encounters
Magic Kingdom is a great spot to meet characters — even with character meet and greets still unavailable. Between the Character Cavalcades and random Character Encounters, we still see our pals a lot. Today, though, we spotted some NEW friendly faces in Disney World!
