Reservations for Disney World’s Riviera Resort to Open This Month

Disney World’s upcoming Riviera Resort is slated to open this fall.

The design for this Disney Vacation Club Resort is “inspired by the European grandeur Walt Disney experienced in his travels along the Mediterranean coastline.” And it has been announced that reservations will open for the general public this month. News: Disney on Broadway Dessert Party Announced for Disney Vacation Club Members During the Epcot Festival of the Arts

The 2019 Epcot Festival of the Arts kicks off January 18 and runs through February 25! The Festival is a celebration of the visual, culinary, and performing arts.

One of the highlights of the Festival is the Disney on Broadway Concert Series featuring performances by some of Broadway’s most accomplished actors and actresses singing some of Disney’s most beloved songs at the America Gardens Theater.

Breaking! New Nature-Inspired Resort on Bay Lake Announced for Walt Disney World

A new resort is coming to Disney World! This deluxe Resort will be “themed to complement its natural surroundings” on the shoreline of Bay Lake, tucked between Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.

The Resort will house more than 900 hotel rooms as well as proposed Disney Vacation Club villas.

George A. Kalogridis, president of Walt Disney World Resort, shared: “Walt Disney World is in the midst of our most significant expansion in the last two decades and the combined 1,700 new hotel rooms and proposed Disney Vacation Club villas we are building at four different resorts will create thousands of new construction and permanent jobs and will drive economic opportunity and incremental revenue for Central Florida. We continue to add new attractions, new lands — and these beautiful accommodations will be right in the heart of all that magic.” [Read more…]

Grocery Delivery Available at Disney Vacation Club Resorts

One of our favorite things about staying in a Disney Vacation Club villa is the inclusion of a kitchen where we can whip up a quick meal any time of the day.

And while the DVC resorts do sell a variety of groceries in the resort’s gift shop, many guests choose to order groceries from off-site stores including Garden Grocer.com or have non-perishable items shipped to the hotel.

News: Disney World Annual Passholders Increased Dining Discount Through Sept. 30th

Hey, Disney World Annual Passholders, Tables in Wonderland Members, and Disney Vacation Club Members! Guess what? According to wdwmagic.com, an increased discount is now available at several Resort restaurants now through the summer (ending September 30, 2017).

News! New Exclusive Magical Dining Experiences Announced for DVC Members

Disney continues its quest to become a destination for fine dining as much as attractions!

Recently, Disney Vacation Club announced that it will begin offering “Magical Dining Experiences” exclusively for DVC members and their guests. (This sounds a LOT like the Tables in Wonderland events, for those who are members of that discount program.)

Dinners will take place at popular signature restaurants throughout Walt Disney World. The prix-fixe menus are crafted by Disney chefs, and will feature accompanying wine and/or beer pairings. In addition, a culinary specialist will offer a live presentation throughout the dinner.

The events, which can be booked exclusively by DVC Members for themselves and their guests, promise to be intimate, with limited spots available for each dinner.

Tucked away in the Downtown Disney Resort area sits Old Key West, a Disney Vacation Club resort. A hidden treasure and tropical oasis lies within — Olivia’s Café.

Atmosphere

From the moment we drove through the gate, I could feel myself relax into the Key West atmosphere. Even the security guard letting us into the resort said “Oh Olivia’s, the best kept secret in Disney World!”

Everything about Old Key West just makes you want to take a deep breath and imagine you’re along the coast with a cool ocean breeze.

When you enter the restaurant, you’ll see walls adorned with tackle and boating items, but also covered with family photos of Disney Vacation Club (DVC) members.

This really sets up the restaurant with the vibe of a local, “towny” place that’s perfect for families. Even though we weren’t regulars, I still felt so welcomed and at home at Olivia’s.

We dined on a flawless weather day, so we opted for a table on the patio. Our table had a perfect view of the flag pole, water, and lobby walkway area.
