We’ve now got another year in the BOOKS, my friends — but when it comes to Disney, the decisions that were made in 2024 are gonna make a HUGE impact in the parks from here on out…for better or for worse.
There are A LOT of changes coming to Disney World in the coming years! Many of these announcements have been the center of many discussions, including the new Cars attractions in Magic Kingdom or the retheme of DinoLand, U.S.A. to Pueblo Esperanza in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

However, amongst the multitude of announcements Disney has made, there are a few that haven’t been talked about as much. We want to make sure you know about these more under-the-radar announcements, as they could impact your next Disney World trip!
Did you know that there is a special ceremony that happens each morning at Disney World? And it may not be where you would expect.
World of Disney Opening Crowds
You can stop by the World of Disney in Disney Springs each morning for a fun opening ceremony! It is a great way to start off your day, and we think it will leave a big smile on your face.
UPDATE: At this time, Disney has discontinued its testing of self-checkout stations at the All-Star Sports Resort.
Disney World has recently been testing self-checkout stations powered by artificial intelligence (AI). We have seen the testing happening at the food court of Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort.
NEW self-checkout system
While the machines are still in the testing phase, it is possible that we could see these machines spread to more food courts in hopes of making checkout more efficient. We asked you what you thought about these new self-checkout machines being tested, and you all didn’t hold back!
Back in April 2023, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis requested an investigation into the Reedy Creek Improvement District (a special district that managed various government services for Disney World) and The Walt Disney Company amid a public political battle. Over a year later, Florida officials concluded the probe. According to WKMG, the members of the former Reedy Creek Improvement District Board of Supervisors did not break any criminal laws.
Magic Kingdom
The investigation was led by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, which ended the probe “due to a lack of a criminal predicate,” according to a memo obtained by the Orlando Sentinel.
