The Lightning Lane system at Disney World is fresh off a brand-new overhaul with the creation of the Lightning Lane Single Pass and Lightning Lane Multi Pass. The change has caused some confusion, and Disney World newbies are especially susceptible to making Lightning Lane mistakes. We’re here to help and make sure those mistakes don’t happen!

As of July 24th, the skip-the-line system at Disney World has changed, so we expect that a lot of questions right now are focused on these changes. There’s a lot to learn and understand ahead of your trip especially since you can reserve a few Lightning Lane experiences in advance. However, there’s one question that we haven’t really answered yet — at what age do you need a Lightning Lane reservation?

Genie+ has gone away forever (and we know a lot of folks cheering about that), but it was replaced with a new system called Lightning Lane Multi Pass. But this was WAY more than a name change. Nope, a lot of other changes happened with how you make Lightning Lane selections through Multi Pass. A LOT. We have tested out the system, and we’ve got to warn you: it’s now a lot harder to book Lightning Lane for some rides.
