It’s no secret that vacations to Walt Disney World or the Universal Orlando Resort are expensive. Take it from someone who has been traveling to the area for years: from travel, lodging, and theme park tickets to souvenirs, food, and rental cars, a trip to the Central Florida tourist area can cost a pretty penny. Suffice it to say, the last thing most travelers want to deal with is a “hidden” charge that arrives days or even weeks after they arrive home.

This “hidden tax” afflicts travelers who fly into Orlando International Airport (MCO) and then rent a car. See, driving from the airport to Disney World, Universal, or any of the area’s other tourist attractions will take you across some toll roads. Can Disney World’s Minnie Vans Pick You Up At The Airport? It’s Complicated…

It’s been five years since Disney World’s historic closure in 2020, but some things still haven’t returned completely to normal.

First, FastPass is a thing of the past, and Disney World replaced it with Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass (formerly Genie+). You still can’t have purchases made in the parks sent back to your hotel. MagicBands are no longer free. Another big change concerns Minnie vans, which are operated by Lyft. Before 2020, you could have a Minnie van pick you up at the airport. Now for many Disney World visitors, that’s still true. However, believe it or not, select Disney World hotel guests still have access to that service.
