We’ve got news for character dining fans!
Garden Grill Restaurant in EPCOT’s The Land Pavilion is one of our favorite character meals in Disney World, but it may not be an option for part of next month. Could Garden Grill be closing? Here’s what we know!Â

There are HUNDREDS of great places to eat at Walt Disney World, and while many of those lie behind the gates of Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom, there are tons of spots you can dine at for a magical meal without having to step foot into a theme park. Disney Springs alone has over 60 dining options!
It can be a LOT to try and navigate the best spots to dine at when visiting Disney World in general. And now, with Park Passes and shorter hours meaning you may not be in a theme park every day for every meal, knowing where to dine at Disney Springs or at one of Disney’s currently open resort hotels can be overwhelming.
Gideon’s Bakehouse is getting ready to open its Disney Springs location and WE. CANNOT. WAIT.
We’ve already sampled SO many delicious cookies from their exiting Orlando location, heard about some of the unique items that will be featured in the new store, tried out their hot cookie hour at their East End Market spot, and even got some awesome stories in an exclusive interview with the cookie master himself — Steve Lewis, the owner of Gideon’s Bakehouse. BUT, today we spotted a new development over at Gideon’s Disney Springs location!
A trip to Disney World is a special event and, as such, you might be tempted to just throw money at every activity, experience, and upgrade available. You want it to be the BEST trip ever, right?!
And there are SO many things to splurge on, including special tours, dining experiences, and ticket add-ons. But for many of us, a lot of these splurges are unnecessary, so let’s look at which ones just aren’t worth it.
Since Disney World has reopened, character experiences have looked a bit different than before. This not only includes meet-and-greets in the parks but character dining experiences too!
That’s why as soon as we heard Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort (one of the most iconic character dining locations in all of Disney World) would be bringing its characters back, we knew we had to check it out! While there were some issues originally trying to grab a reservation, we were lucky enough to snag one. This meal has been updated when it reopened in July, serving breakfast to your table as an all-you-care-to-eat meal, rather than the usual buffet.
We’ve seen Mickey and his friends in the holiday cavalcades and some character dining experiences, and we’ve waved at him as he stood on the Main Street, U.S.A. train station, but now there’s one more spot to find the mouse!
A few months ago, Disney shared that some of our favorite characters would soon be making their way back to Chef Mickey’s in Disney’s Contemporary Resort and the day has finally arrived!
Starting tomorrow, December 16th, Chef Mickey and friends are coming BACK to Chef Mickey’s!
This fan-favorite character buffet restaurant reopened at Disney’s Contemporary Resort back in July with no buffet and no characters (but a much, much lower price). It also swapped its buffet for a family-style meal.
