Review: New Mocha Brownie at Epcot’s Fountain View

When you stop by Fountain View in Epcot for your Starbucks fix, there’s a new sweet treat to try!

There are two ways to ride Soarin without a FastPass: groggily walk to park opening and make a mad dash to be first in line, or leisurely stroll into Epcot and stand in the hours-long line that’s waiting for you. So whether you make your coffee stop before or after, Fountain View will come in handy.

You can’t miss Fountain View on your way to the back of the park. It will be looking over Epcot’s amazing fountains directly across from Mouse Gears and right next to Club Cool.

News: Sweet Cream Cheese Pretzel Returns to Magic Kingdom

We’re back at the Magic Kingdom for Round Two of the Returning Snacks Series!

Perhaps you were with us when we stopped by Sleepy Hollow Refreshments earlier this week to investigate the return of the Sweet and Spicy Chicken Waffle Sandwich. (It was something of a disappointment, honestly. Find out why here.)

Well, we had one more item to look into that day…. could the rumors be true? Had the Sweet Cream Cheese Pretzel REALLY come back to The Lunching Pad? And, if so, is it still every bit as good as we remember?

Not that it’s so hard to remember. The Sweet Cream Cheese Pretzel only split from the scene earlier this year, and unfortunately its savory counterpart, the Jalapeño Cheese Pretzel, disappeared right along with it.

But, lo and behold, on our recent Magic Kingdom jaunt, there it was.

The Sweet Cream Cheese Pretzel is back on the menu at The Lunching Pad in Tomorrowland (still priced about the same as it was and once again a snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan)! [Read more…]

News! Sweet and Spicy Chicken Waffle Sandwich Returns to Magic Kingdom. (Just WAY Smaller and WAY More Expensive.)

Okay, I was SUPER PUMPED when I started hearing about the return of a certain favorite sandwich to the Magic Kingdom.

Our roving reporter headed straight to Main Street, U.S.A. to begin a trek to discover the truth behind recent rumors of the return of the treat.

The main objective: Sleepy Hollow Refreshments in Liberty Square to find out if the Sweet and Spicy Chicken Waffle Sandwich was back on the menu.

And IT IS!! The Sweet and Spicy Chicken Waffle Sandwich is once again listed along with the Nutella and Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich, and the relatively recent addition of the Sausage and Cheddar-stuffed Pretzel.

The Chicken Waffle Sandwich made its return with… a gigantic price increase (womp, womp).

It’s now $10.29. So, there ya go. But still… it’s BACK! So we had to try it to see if it was the same goodness it always was. As a reminder, here’s the sandwich in its previous form. Big Belgian waffle, big chicken, slaw, and arugula. (Can you sense we’re setting you up for disappointment here?) [Read more…]

Sing with me now!

“Welcome to our tropical hideaway

You lucky people, you!

If we weren’t in the show starting right away,

We’d be EATING DOLE WHIPS with you!”

What’s that you say? You can only bring your Dole Whip from the Tiki Juice Bar into the Enchanted Tiki Room attraction in Disneyland?

On my most recent trip to Disney California Adventure, I thought it was finally time to review two sweets sitting side by side in most Disneyland candy cases that tend to fly under the radar: the Dark Chocolate Peppermint Pattie and the Coconut Pattie.

Remembering Writer’s Stop in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Well, we had hoped against hope that it wouldn’t happen… but it has.

Last week, we said goodbye to the Writer’s Stop in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

In order to make way for the construction of the future Star Wars and Toy Story Lands, the closure of the Streets of America section of the park began in April, resulting in the removal of several eateries in the area like Studio Catering Co., High Octane Refreshments, and Herbie’s Drive-In. The beloved little Writer’s Stop, however, escaped the first round of closures.

It wasn’t without a change of its own, though. In April, Writer’s Stop began operating as a de facto lounge for guests awaiting their Advance Dining Reservation for the neighboring Sci-Fi Dine-In Restaurant instead of as the pastry, coffee, and book store it was best known as over the years.

Writer’s Stop

Through the changes, the Writer’s Stop was a small corner of peaceful respite during a very busy park day. (Since the Streets of America section of the park was an assemblage of building false fronts and film sets, many guests would pass right on by Writer’s Stop, assuming it was more of the same.) Review: Salted Oatmeal Cornflake Cookie, Brownie, and Cap’n Crunch Ice Cream Sandwich at Sprinkles in Disney Springs

::Gasp!:: OK, I know that’s a LONG title…but I HAD to let you know what we’re in for!

I stopped by the new Sprinkles in Disney Springs on my recent trip to Walt Disney World. And I seriously could not. Stop. Trying new things.

You already know about their fantastic Cupcakes. And we’ve also shared our impressions of their Sundae — homemade Ice Cream craftily layered with your choice of Cupcake, so you get a lil bit of everything in every bite. HEAVEN.

But guess what? There’s even more!

I just shared those incredible Seasonal Cupcakes with you. (If the Lemon Meringue and the German Chocolate Cupcakes are gone when you’re there, look for the Caramel Apple and S’mores versions for Fall!)

But I’ve gotta come clean. That’s not all I tried while I was in town.

Because they also offer one of my most favorite things ever: Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches.

You know I’m a big fan of Disney’s version of these. But wait, just wait, until you see the outrageousness that awaited us at Sprinkles.

Let’s Go.

Salted Oatmeal Cornflake Cookie and Brownie Ice Cream Sandwich with Cap’n Crunch Ice Cream(!!!!!)

So the amazing thing about the Sprinkles Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich is that it’s totally customizable. Name your cookies. Name your ice cream. Mix and match to your heart’s content.
