To ensure we are equipping our readers with all the information they need, we will continue to report on all travel, safety, and COVID-related news that could impact a Disney Parks visit.
Disneyland may have reopened to guests just one year ago, but the resort has seen quite a few changes to health and safety measures in that time period.
When the parks first reopened, face masks were required almost everywhere. That quickly changed to face masks becoming optional outside, and then again becoming optional almost everywhere for vaccinated guests. The only place that has kept mask requirements in place for everyone (ages 2 and older) was on enclosed transportation like Disney shuttles. But, that has now changed.
Face masks are no longer required on any transportation in Disneyland. This update is now reflected on Disneyland’s website, with the face mask rules noting that “It is strongly recommended that Guests wear face coverings when indoors and in enclosed transportation.”
Previously, face coverings were only optional at all indoor and outdoor locations, including throughout indoor attractions and indoor queues, but were still required when riding on most Disney transportation.
Keep in mind that face masks are still required in certain indoor locations, including First Aid. So, you will still want to have a face mask handy when you’re visiting just in case.
This change comes just a few days after face mask policies were updated to make masks optional on transportation at Disney World as well. You can take a look at how the policy has been implemented in Disney World here.
Of course, we’ll be on the lookout for more updates as the situation with COVID-19 continues to change and develop. Check back for the latest info.
