D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event just wrapped up, and if you spent the weekend following along, you already know it was a LOT.

The “Horizons: A Carousel of Progress” showcase on August 15th delivered a genuinely massive haul of park news — Tropical Americas, Monstropolis, Villains Land, a reimagined Journey Into Imagination, an expanded Avengers Campus, and international updates from Tokyo to Paris. But if you were hoping for Disney hotel news? You were left hanging.
One thing that’s so much fun about attending D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event is seeing all the cool and unique merchandise that’s available on the show floor. The good news is that a lot of that merchandise is just available at the event early, with it dropping later online.

Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingidom
A ton of new and reimagined rides are coming to Disney World, like in Piston Peak in Magic Kingdom and in the new Tropical Americas land at Animal Kingdom, along with even more ride updates like the Carousel of Progress and Spaceship Earth. Disney recently filed a new patent that indicates a new ride experience could be on the way — here’s what we know!

Hurly-Burly
One of the changes includes Hurly-Burly, which is taking over the former Jellyrolls location. This space is going to be full of entertainment both day and night, and we’re finally seeing active construction work on the project, and we’re getting SO excited.
Disney just showed us the ride vehicles for its upcoming Encanto attraction in Animal Kingdom, and we have questions. Specifically: Haven’t we seen something a LOT like these before?

At D23, Disney finally revealed more details about Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto, the major family attraction coming to Pueblo Esperanza in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. We learned its official name, got new concept art, saw some of the animals that will appear inside, and got our first real look at the vehicles that will carry guests through Casita. And those vehicles look awfully familiar.

We officially now know that the Encanto dark ride will be called Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto, and the carousel will be called El Carrusel de los Animalitos. Not only that, but the Indiana Jones ride is officially called Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent. When Disney first announced this new land, many thought it would also feature live animals from the region, but a former Imagineer says that may not be the case.
It’s officially almost September, which means fall is right around the corner, and for all our sports fanatics out there, the NFL season starts in just a few weeks.
