Chocolate for breakfast, anyone 😉 ?
Well then, you’re in the right place… because this morning we’re visiting Disney World’s very own specialty chocolate shop: The Ganachery!
You’ll find the brand new Ganachery in The Landing of Disney Springs — that’s the same general area as many of the recent dining and shopping additions that have opened in Disney Springs over the past year such as Erin McKenna’s Bakery NYC, Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar, Vivoli il Gelato, and The Boathouse.
2016 is gearing up to be a positively HUGE year for Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
The headlining news revolves around the highly anticipated Rivers of Light spectacular, which — along with evening journeys at Kilimajaro Safaris also beginning sometime in the spring — will transform Animal Kingdom into a park with nighttime activities for the first time.
Naturally, this transition into a full day park will affect dining options, since expanded operating hours will result in a larger need for more dining opportunities. In fact, it’s already been announced that Animal Kingdom will also be getting its first Signature Restaurant in 2016, Tiffins.
But it’s not just huge shows and signature eateries coming to Animal Kingdom. Some additions are more subtle, but certainly still worth noting. For instance… SURPRISE!! As of this past Saturday, there is a brand new bar and snack stand you can now enjoy in Animal Kingdom’s Asia.
Welcome to Thirsty River Bar and Trek Snacks! Let’s have a look! [Read more…]
We’ve spotted yet another holiday seasonal item in Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
Now, we’ve long-hailed Min and Bill’s Dockside Diner as a great place to find themed drinks thanks to their rotating assortment of Seasonal Shakes (currently you’ll find a Blue Milk Shake, in honor of all the new Star Wars eats and activities that have recently come to the Studios). But that’s not the only place with a few seasonal sips up its sleeve…
Today’s selection is coming at you from Anaheim Produce. Did you know about the Seasonal Coladas you can find here??
You know we at the DFB love a good colada… So hold on to your Santa hats, folks, because it’s time to try the Candy Cane Kah-lada at Anaheim Produce!
You’ll find Anaheim Produce on Sunset Boulevard in the Sunset Ranch Market.
The stand itself is really pretty simple — basically a quick-service grab and go deal. But it’s part of the larger Sunset Ranch Market area (which also includes spots like Hollywood Scoops and the recently re-opened from refurbishment Rosie’s All-American Cafe and Catalina Eddie’s), offering plenty of outdoor, nicely shaded seating. One of my favorite parts of this time of year is seeing all of the Gingerbread House Displays at the Disney World Resort Hotels! Better yet, I love spying all of the new festive sweets available at the displays. And this year, The Boardwalk Inn is hosting not only an updated display, but a few new treats as well… .
For the past few years, the BoardWalk Inn has returned to celebrating its turn-of-the-century Atlantic seashore theme with its gingerbread display.
For 2015, the simultaneous display and shop (a la the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House) has been reimagined as Ginger’s Bread and Cookie Shoppe. [Read more…]

Let’s head back to one of our favorite ice cream spots in Disney California Adventure: Clarabelle’s Hand-Scooped Ice Cream!
Named after Clarabelle Cow (you can learn a little more on the backstory of her name — and subsequently the shop’s name — here), this cute little spot is located on Buena Vista Street in DCA. [Read more…]

Star Wars fans, rejoice! We are starting to see some major Star Wars additions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for the new Season of the Force!
These additions weren’t expected to arrive until January 5 so it looks they got a head start — and just in time for the release of the new movie! New to Hollywood Studios is Launch Bay.
This spot is patrolled by Stormtroopers throughout the day. [Read more…]

Epcot is once again bringing us some holiday cheer with Holidays Around The World!
Travel around the world showcase to discover stories, shows, and (most importantly) foods from each country and learn about how they celebrate this special time of year.

If the visions of sugarplums that dance in your head around this time of year are accompanied by any of the caramel treats served at Karamell-Küche in Epcot’s Germany Pavilion, then you’ve gotta check out the Hot Salted Caramel — this year dubbed the Caramel Kiss — that we’re featuring on a special holiday edition of #OnTheList this week!
As you stroll around World Showcase enjoying the music and stories by the Holiday Storytellers, you can also experience the holiday culinary traditions of the countries represented in the Showcase Pavilions.
Before or after you enjoy listening to Helga share her country’s traditions in the Germany Pavilion (with a little help from her favorite Nutcracker), you should really stop by the Prost! kiosk-stand-Christkindlmarkt-thingy to check out the festive beverages.
The traditional German drink of warm, spiced Glühwein can be found here. It’s often the star beverage. And while I’m certainly in favor of that, my recommendation is that you consider the other Specialty Beverages, like this year’s Caramel Kiss!
Perhaps you’ve heard of Drinking Chocolate… but how about Drinking Caramel? Because THAT’S essentially what the Caramel Kiss is: warm, rich, buttery, melted caramel, custom made for sipping. And while that may sound a little off, I’m asking you to trust me on this one.
I don’t think you’ll regret it.
Now, it’s BEYOND rare that I recommend passing by Karamell-Küche, but listen: like Christmas itself, Hot Salted Caramel only comes ‘round once a year at Epcot. Plus, it’s all in the name of celebrating Werther’s Caramel, so I think we’re in the clear 😉 .
As they say in Germany… Prost!
