Ahead of the 4th of July weekend, over 1,000 flights were canceled partly due to increases in staffing shortages, and airlines are trying to get ahead of the weekend demand. Experts are predicting that this weekend could set travel records — but flights continue to be canceled in high numbers.
It’s a holiday weekend, and you know what that means.

Disney previously announced that Splash Mountain at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World would be rethemed to be a The Princess and the Frog-themed ride, and now we’ve got some BIG updates on this reimagined attraction.

We’ve already seen some concept art, and heard a bit about the characters coming to the rethemed ride, and we got a potential opening date from the voice behind Tiana. Disney also shared that more details about the retheme would be released during ESSENCE Fest, a special festival taking place in New Orleans. We were able to attend ESSENCE Fest and now we’ve got some huge news to share!
Of all the projects in the works at Disneyland and Disney World (and there are a lot of them!), one of the most highly anticipated is the Splash Mountain re-theme. Disney announced in July 2020 that the attraction would get a Princess and the Frog makeover on both coasts, but they didn’t give many details about WHEN the re-theme would take place.

We’ve seen several updates about this project since then, including some awesome concept art and more details about the story and characters. But Disney has been mysteriously silent about the timeline for the re-theme — UNTIL NOW. We finally have a DATE for Splash Mountain’s Princess and the Frog transformation!

Mickey Mouse: The Main Attraction
