We are back with some of our very best kept Disney Dining Secrets. And we want to share them with you!
Planning what you’re going to eat and drink at Walt Disney World is no small undertaking. To begin, there are tons of choices. But what if you could make your meal a real multitasker? Say, you could enjoy some terrific eats, and get that shiny new autograph book filled with the names of all of your Disney favorites? Yep, we’re talking Character Meals.
You may think that the character meal experience isn’t for you. But we invite you to take a closer look at these special meals and see for yourself if a Character meal could be right for you.
And if you like what you see here, be sure to check out the 2020 DFB Guide to Walt Disney World Dining, where we talk character meals and LOTS more!
You may think that if you’re an adult, single, or have older kids, there’s really no reason to engage in that Disney Rite of Passage, the Character Meal. But we think there’s a place for everyone at the character table, and here’s why.
It’s Cool In There, People. I’m not talking, like, rad. I mean literally, it’s cool. Like, air-conditioned. And in our opinion, waiting for characters with the a/c cranked up while noshing on delicious food WAY beats standing out in the hot sun any day. [Read more…]

The World of Disney Food is BIG. Planning a Disney vacation is serious business, and a big part of that is where, when, and what you’re going to eat. And there are a few Disney dining mistakes you should take care to avoid.
Making assumptions, or failing to properly plan for your meals and snacks when you visit Walt Disney World, can make for a less than magical experience. But there’s good news! We know a thing or two about dining in Disney 😉 and we are ready to share what NOT to do!
If you only take one piece of advice from this list, make it this one. Do not wait until you get to Walt Disney World to plan your dining.
In fact, make those advance dining reservations just as soon as you can — at the 180 day mark! This is especially true if you want to experience a super popular Disney restaurant, like dinner at Be Our Guest Restaurant.
By booking your restaurants ahead of time, you get to choose from the largest selection of options (the closer you get to your trip, the fewer restaurants will be available), but you’re not locked in. For most Disney World restaurants, you can always cancel reservations or re-arrange your dining up until the day before your ADR.

It’s time for another DFB Video!
Ah, Character Meals. Do you love ’em or hate ’em? We’re big fans of the experience, actually! They’re a great way to see lots of characters, and enjoy some pretty decent food without too much running around.
But we get that not every character meal is the best fit for everyone. So in today’s DFB Video, we’re exploring the Best — and Worst — Character Meals in Walt Disney World.
Another new…ish restaurant is coming to Disney Springs! Portobello in Disney Springs closed its doors on April 24, and the space will reopen later this year as a new restaurant.

Step inside Epcot’s Mexico pavilion with guest author Rebecca Dolan! Let’s check out her lunch review of San Angel Inn.
If the thought of eating Mexican food at an amusement park brings up images of overstuffed burritos, taco salads, and plastic-cheese nachos, you’re not alone. And while Disney does those things (and does them well), when dining in Epcot you can expect more authentic options.
The Mexico Pavilion is home to two full-service restaurants, San Angel Inn and La Hacienda de San Angel. Today we’re heading deep inside the pyramid for lunch at San Angel Inn.
This spot has been hot and cold for us in the past. On some visits, it’s wonderful; on others, there’s a lot left to be desired. So I’m excited to see how Rebecca got on in one of Epcot’s legacy restaurants!
Once inside the pyramid you’ll step into a town square, where a fiesta is being held under a twilight sky.
There are stores, street vendors, a tequila bar, and the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros boat ride.
It’s here! We’ve made it another year, U.S. Friends!
I’m talkin’ about Tax Day. Whether you received a hefty refund, or you’re still crying over the check you had to write, one thing is for certain: we are all happy to have the task of settling up with Uncle Sam done and over with for another year.
See, we think that it’s time to take a TAX BREAK…and plan your DISNEY TRIP INSTEAD! I mean doesn’t this look like so much more fun?!?
So for one week only, we’re offering two fantastic opportunities to save…and excuses to blow off your responsibilities and start making FASTPASS RESERVATIONS! ;-D
We’re talking 50% off of the DFB Guide Everything Bundle (that’s OVER $70 off the cover prices!) and 30% off of the book that started it all — the 2017 DFB Guide to Walt Disney World Dining e-Book, Second Edition! [Read more…]
