There’s a new pineapple snack in town, and you’re going to want to sit down for this. It’s Pineapple. Upside Down. Cake. With. DOLE WHIP!
Queso Blancooooooooo + Corn Dog Nuggets at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe
Hold your horses, cowpokes!
Because we’ve got a tasty new combo to show you courtesy of Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe.
Here’s the deal: you may already know (and love!) the Corn Dog Nuggets made famous in the Magic Kingdom thanks to Casey’s Corner. And now that PLASTIC CHEESE has returned to the beloved hot dog haven, you can dip those Nuggets right on into what I consider the World’s Best Condiment.
Plastic Cheese used to be available at Pecos Bill’s, too, when it was the Magic Kingdom’s most popular burger joint. But a few years ago this Counter Service spot switched to Mexican and Southwest-style fare, and the Pecos Bill’s Fixin’s Bar followed suit. (Plus Plastic Cheese had likewise been removed from Counter Service restaurants all over Disney World, anyhoo.)
But things are looking up with regard to CHEESE at Pecos Bill’s, because Queso Blanco has hit the scene! And we couldn’t help but immediately pair it up with a certain item on the Kids’ Menu, so we can now proudly present to you: Corn Dog Nuggets and Queso Blanco!
I’m a huge fan of queso blanco, and when it originally showed up on the menu at Pecos Bill’s, I was excited to try it. Unfortunately, it was lackluster, to say the least. Prepackaged. Lukewarm. Just… blah. [Read more…]
News: Citrus Swirl Orange Float at Sunshine Tree Terrace in Disney World
WOW! Just two weeks ago we broke the news that Vanilla Dole Whip had returned to Aloha Isle.
And now we’ve got MORE news regarding another Adventureland iconic snack…
It’s the Citrus Swirl from Sunshine Tree Terrace!
The tart orange slush (like frozen OJ) swirled with vanilla soft serve just got a MAJOR update.
Because you can now get a Citrus Swirl Orange Float!
Here’s the deal: you won’t even see this on the Sunshine Tree Terrace menu… yet. [Read more…]
Review: Skipper Canteen in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom
Greetings, fellow Explorers and Adventurers!
We’re back for another dining adventure at the Jungle Navigation Co., Ltd. Skipper Canteen… more often referred to (for obvious reasons) as the Skipper Canteen, or — before we learned that tongue twister of a full name — the Jungle Cruise Restaurant, themed for the classic Jungle Cruise attraction.
Your very own Jungle Cruise Skipper is ready to take you on a culinary tour through the Jungle Cruise’s regular stomping — or floating — grounds of Asia, Africa, and South America. That’s what makes up the “World Famous Jungle Cuisine!
And you may just enjoy some of that Jungle Cruise slapstick — both from your server and your surroundings — while you’re at it.
So, welcome back, Cruisers…
… as we once again set foot inside the Skipper Canteen! [Read more…]
News: Disneyland Rivers of America Collectible Card TREASURE HUNT!!!
Disneyland is keeping a secret that you’ve GOT to know about!
Disneyland is undergoing lots of changes and improvements these days. Y’all know that the Summer of Heroes is underway until September 1o, and we’ve had lots of chances to try the yummy heroes-themed eats. Oh, and Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: Breakout opened, so there’s that. 😀
News: Indoor Seating Area Coming to Disneyland’s Bengal Barbecue
So, remember just a few weeks ago when we paid a visit to Bengal Barbecue in Disneyland to try their new Jungle Julep?
Well, just like always, we took our Jungle Julep and strolled around with it. Why? Because — even with the popularity of this Adventureland Skewer spot — this little kiosk has never had a dedicated seating area. [Read more…]
What’s New Around Walt Disney World: March 29th, 2017
HAPPY SPRING, everybody!
Another winter is behind us and the warmth and blooms of spring are here at last. So we hope you’ll take a little Spring Break with us…
… to check out What’s New Around Walt Disney World, starting with these fun new hot drink cups! While we weren’t sure about the understated design on the new cups and plates in Disney Parks, I do like these particular quotes being front and center.
Secret Menu: Disney World Citrus Swirl…JUST THE CITRUS!!!!
Update: Thanks to our commenters for letting us know that some cast members simply won’t/can’t fulfill this request without a manager’s approval. Good luck!
I’ve always loved the Citrus Swirl at Magic Kingdom’s Sunshine Tree Terrace. Who doesn’t? If you haven’t had one — it’s basically frozen orange juice swirled with vanilla soft serve. And it’s everything.
And even though there was a time where it was off the menu (we call those the “unmagical” days…and then there were the SUPER “unmagical” days when they SAID they brought it back, but it was just orange soft serve twisted with vanilla. NOT. THE. SAME.), it’s back again and has been for a while, thank goodness.
But today we’re not just talking about your run-of-the-mill Citrus Swirl. No sir. We’ve got a twist (see what I did there? of course you did.) that I think some of you will really like. ;-D Maybe not all of you. Maybe just a few of you. But if you’re as excited about this as I am, we’re clearly best friends and we need to hang out.
First — you’ve got to make your way to Sunshine Tree Terrace. It sits right at the entrance to Adventureland, so it’s pretty easy to find. OH, and if this looks like Aloha Isle to you, remember that the two traded places a while back. 😉
Disneyland Hack: Tajin Dole Whips
How can you possibly improve upon a Dole Whip in Disneyland?! We recently heard about a Disneyland Hack that might just make this must-have treat even more desirable, and our Disneyland guru Heather Sievers headed over to investigate!
Yep — Disneylanders in the know are dousing their dole whip with Tajin®!
But this add-on isn’t on the menu. Let me give you a little step by step…
Step 1: After you get into Disneyland, do NOT get your Dole Whip first! Stop by Tropical Imports — home of better-for-you snacks like whole fruit — in Adventureland. (Bonus points for spotting Pluto for the 2016 Egg-stravaganza!).
Step 2: Grab yourself a packet of Tajin® Clasico Seasoning. (It’s free!) [Read more…]
Disney Dining Details: Skipper Canteen Secret Passageway Bookshelves
Do you harbor a secret dream to become a member of the S.E.A. (Society of Explorers and Adventurers)?
If so, then maybe you’d like to do a little exploring with me today as we step back inside the Jungle Navigation Co., Ltd. Skipper Canteen in Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland, the still-new restaurant based on the Jungle Cruise attraction.

But now it’s time to check out a few more of those Disney details! And with many thanks to my friend Daniel Wanderman who recently dined there, we’ve got some more to share…
In order to enter the S.E.A. Room coming from the Mess Hall, you must pass through a hallway.
As you pass, you’ll notice the hallway is lined with bookcases. [Read more…]
