And now there’s a NEW citrus treat in town! The Orange Cream Cupcake has arrived at the BoardWalk Bakery.
Time to take a look at the new speciality cupcake at the Boardwalk Bakery in Disney World!
OK, OK — I realize that it basically looks like you’ll need a whole pallet of toothpaste to get the purple stain off your teeth. Agreed. But when we saw this sweet treat in the bakery case at the Boardwalk Bakery we knew we had to try it. It’s our job after all, right? So here’s what happened… .
I always look forward to returning to the Boardwalk Bakery to check out the latest cupcake creations!
It’s been a busy time at the Boardwalk as we welcomed its newest addition, Ample Hills Creamery, a couple of weeks ago and refurbishment continues on the Flying Fish makeover and the upcoming AbracadaBar. While I can’t help but be tempted by all the unique and yummy flavors at the new ice cream location (seriously, check this place out), I always make it a point to stop by the Boardwalk Bakery pretty much anytime I visit Disney World.
The perennial favorites can typically be found in the case, like the Cheesecake Brownie and Chocolate Mickey Tart. But next to the regular Mickey Oreo Cupcake you can typically spot a surprise with a seasonal cupcake. And the one I had on my last trip combines some flavors perfect for celebrating the return of summer: the Strawberry Lemonade Cupcake.
It’s a pretty thing, isn’t it? The light, whipped lemon frosting is swirled with the similarly textured pink strawberry frosting, topped with an almost artistic fondant piece. It’s all garnished with pink candies and sits on a yellow cake base. I’m not sure if you spotted it in the previous picture, but there is a small white and dark chocolate piece popped in just like a straw for sipping lemonade 🙂 . Here’s a closeup… [Read more…]
The 2015 Chocolate Easter Egg Display at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort isn’t the only sure sign of spring around here these days! Easter treats have been “hopping” up everywhere around Disney World Resort to celebrate this weekend’s holiday — not to mention the remainder of the Spring Break season through the end of next week.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a holiday at Disney World without all sorts of specialty cupcakes, and Easter is no egg-ception. (I. Can’t. Stop. Doing. That!). At Epcot, a Chocolate Cupcake with marshmallow filling and marshmallow buttercream frosting can be found at Fountain View from now through April 11th, and at Sunshine Seasons for a very limited run on April 4th and 5th.
This beauty of a Carrot Cake Cupcake topped with a mini Bunny Macaron will be at the Contemporary Resort only through April 5th! The inside has a pineapple-coconut filling and it’s all topped with white chocolate buttercream frosting along with toasted coconut and — hooray! — jelly beans!
While there, be sure to check out the Contemporary Resort’s display of Chocolate Bunnies and decorated Easter Eggs presented by the Resort’s pastry chefs on the fourth floor!
BoardWalk Bakery boasts its own Easter Cupcake: vanilla cake filled with raspberry panna cotta, topped off with a coconut nest filled with jelly beans.
And, of course, you can check out spots at [Read more…]
It’s time to pop in and see what’s what at one of the best Disney spots for treats, BoardWalk Bakery!
The Bakery has always been one of our favorite spots for sweet treats, but it’s a can’t-miss every trip since it reopened after a major overhaul last year!
But Boardwalk Bakery is also one of our favorite stops to find those amazing Disney World Cupcakes.
The Mickey Oreo Cupcake
The Mickey Oreo Cupcake captivated me at first glance because it’s just so darn cute. Underneath all of the fun trimmings, it’s a very simple cupcake — Chocolate Cake and Vanilla Icing, with a little surprise inside — and trimmed with Red Candies. But the garnish, though simple, adds something pretty special. It also bears a striking resemblance to another BoardWalk Bakery Mickey Oreo Cupcake from the past — the Oreo Bon Bon Cupcake.
Sitting on top is an Oreo Cookie, half-dipped in Red-Colored White Chocolate to resemble Mickey himself! Add a couple of Chocolate Discs for ears and Yellow Candies for buttons, and voila!
But tucked inside, there’s another item of interest — a thick, mousse-like [Read more…]
