If you’re planning a trip to Disney World, you’re probably dreaming of all the magical moments you’ll have, Mickey-shaped treats, and riding the classics like Space Mountain. And while Disney World is absolutely the place where dreams come true, there are some brutal truths about the “Most Magical Place on Earth” that you’re probably not ready to hear, but trust us, you’ll be better for it!
There are so many new and exciting projects coming to Disney World!
Magic Kingdom
At D23 this past August, we got a look into all the new attractions that will be making their way to Disney World. Magic Kingdom will see the addition of a Disney Villains land beyond Big Thunder Mountain. Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America will close to make way for two brand-new Cars attractions. Animal Kingdom will see a big re-vamp as It’s Tough to be a Bug! will close to make way for a brand new show called Zootopia: Better Zoogether. DinoLand U.S.A. will also close and be re-themed to Pueblo Esperanza, a Tropical Americas-themed land that will feature three brand new rides. That does not even scratch the surface as other projects are coming to EPCOT, such as Test Track 3.0 and Hollywood Studios, like the new Monsters, Inc. land. While we are pumped about all these new additions to Disney World, we are wondering why nothing has been said about these five abandoned attractions.
Hurricanes can form unexpectedly and suddenly and with that, many theme parks try to come up with the best solution to keep guests and their staff safe.

Hurricane Helene touched down in Florida last night and Disney World has already begun their recovery process, opening up their doors and returning to their regularly scheduled hours. As the incredible cast members came together to restore the grounds, we checked out the park to see what Disney World looks like after a hurricane.

Magic Kingdom
On August 7th, the Walt Disney Company an earnings report revealed lower demand for the company’s domestic theme parks, including Disney World. Calling it “flat” theme park attendance, Disney Chief Financial Officer Hugh Johnston suggested that the theme park business is in a healthy spot, but slowing down at a tolerable rate. With massive expansions involving several beloved IPs on the horizon, this bump in the road is not expected to be permanent, so for those looking to take advantage of lower Disney World attendance, now’s the time.
Sometimes, Starbucks just hits, especially when you’re in Disney World and it’s rope drop or the middle of the day when you’ve lost your last bit of energy.
Disney Springs
Yeah, we’ll usually warn you about long lines at Starbucks, especially in the morning, but at the same time, we’ll often be standing in those lines (although we do go to Joffrey’s when they’re TOO long). Well, if you’re headed to Disney Springs, your Starbucks options just opened up again: a closed Starbucks there has just reopened! OH, HAPPY DAY!

So far, we’ve seen Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party get canceled, and Disney has closed its water parks and miniature golf courses. But outside of those changes, the theme parks are still operating as usual! We’re in the parks today to report on the weather and the storm prep, so let’s see what it’s like to go to Disney World before a hurricane.

Let me tell you, for the most part, these past 10 years have been an absolute dream. There’s nothing quite like the magic of being able to hop over to Magic Kingdom on a random Wednesday afternoon or grabbing a quick bite from the Japan Pavilion in EPCOT after work. But even though the decade has been magical, there’s this one Disney World rule that drives me absolutely crazy, so let’s talk about it!

Reflections — A Disney Lakeside Lodge was first announced in 2018, and later that year Disney filed permits for a new mystery development labeled “Project 89” to be built in an area right near Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. But then, POOF! Work halted on Reflections and Disney has been quiet on the project ever since. Lately, though, we’ve been seeing signs that Reflections may not be over after all, and we just found two more.
Just in case you missed it, the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival is happening RIGHT NOW in EPCOT and will run through November 23rd, 2024!

We love the Food and Wine Festival. We were there on the first day. We’ve tried all kinds of new foods and checked out every food booth. We’ve also had a look at all the new merchandise for the festival and even enjoyed the entertainment of the Eat to the Beat concert series. So, you can definitely tell we love the festival. Now, even though we love the Food and Wine Festival, there are some eats and drinks that have got us downright perplexed. I mean who even orders them anyway?! Let’s talk about it!
