UPDATE: According to Disney, the antics at Whispering Canyon Cafe have been toned down as opposed to being quieted entirely, with a goal of being considerate of other guests at the Lodge. We will continue to monitor this story as it develops.
It was always fun to be in on the joke that the “Whisper” in Whispering Canyon Cafe was an intentional misnomer, as this Wilderness Lodge Table Service restaurant was not reflective of the actual atmosphere of the location.
It was always filled with hootin’ and hollerin’, brought about and encouraged by the wacky hijinks of the serving staff.

So, Artist Point… we meet again.
Okay, I know… “Melodramatic much?” Maybe. But here’s the thing: this Signature Restaurant in Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and I have met several times now. And years ago, I would commonly say that I never knew what to expect. Some visits were terrific, while others… well, just weren’t.
But over my past few visits, I have come to a more regular expectation: that I simply won’t be wowed by the experience.
And — believe it or not — that’s exactly why I keep going back. Because if you’ve been with me here on DFB for any length of time, you know that the only consistent thing about Disney restaurants is that they can be really inconsistent. So I always want to give places a chance to up their game.
Well, that and I just straight up love Wilderness Lodge. 🙂
So, how did this last visit treat me? Let’s step inside the Lodge…
… and find out!
When you set foot inside Artist Point (and, really, anywhere in Wilderness Lodge), you’re no longer meant to feel as though you’re in the Sunshine State.

Welcome back to Geyser Point Bar and Grill at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge!
Open for just over a year now, Geyser Point is a lounge-meets-counter-service restaurant (we’ll explain how that works shortly) set outside the beautiful Lodge, making the most of some truly terrific lakeside views.
It used to be that guests could grab a cocktail directly poolside at the casual Trout Pass Pool Bar. But the former Trout Pass has since been transformed into the Salon by the Springs, so Geyser Point is THE place to grab a drink near the Copper Creek Springs Pool.
But there’s much more than drinks in store these days. So let’s pay a one-year-old birthday visit to Geyser Point Bar and Grill! Because even in this very first year, there are already some changes to report. And while there’s still plenty to enjoy here, I can’t say I’m a fan of some of the changes.
Allow me to explain…
Geyser Point welcomes guests by presenting a rustic setting in perfect keeping with Wilderness Lodge.
Happy New Year!
There’s no denying that 2017 has been a year of changes, some good and some not-so-good. But when it comes to Disney food news, we have to say this year has been FULL of updates!
And as we get ready to ring in the New Year with party hats, noisemakers, and a toast, we’re taking a few minutes to review some of the biggest Disney Food News stories of 2017!
Let’s go! [Read more…]
HELLOOOOO from Disney’s Wilderness Lodge!
We’re here to check out all the eats and drinks at the BRAND NEW Geyser Point Bar & Grill located near Silver Creek Springs Pool (the Resort’s main pool). This new spot blends right in with the Pacific Northwest feel of this beautiful Resort, and we’re happy to show you around!
By the way, this opening coincides with the temporary closure of Roaring Fork, a Counter Service option, and the permanent closure of Trout Pass Pool Bar. Roaring Fork will reopen later this year once their refurbishments are complete, but Trout Pass will be repurposed, with Geyser Point serving as the main pool bar for both pools.
Therefore, in its opening months, Geyser Point will be THE place for Counter Service breakfast, lunch, AND dinner at Wilderness Lodge (and Territory Lounge will serve continental breakfast options and coffee until 2 pm daily). But there’s more to it than that, as you’re about to see…
… as you join us for our first trip to Geyser Point Bar & Grill!
Editor’s Note: Geyser Point Bar and Grill will be opening in February 2017.
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is home to some of our favorite dining spots including the Whispering Canyon Cafe and Roaring Fork. And next summer it will be home to a new table service restaurant – Geyser Point Bar & Grill. A new quick service restaurant is planned as well.
The new table service eatery is part of the on-going expansion at Wilderness Lodge, which also includes the addition of waterside cabins, a new pool at the Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge (formerly The Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge), and the addition of more DVC units in the main lodge.
