Genie+ is the PAID FastPass+ replacement service that can help you skip the lines at some of your favorite rides throughout the parks. We’ve already shared a comprehensive guide to Genie+ and a look at how the service is different in Disney World vs. Disneyland, but now something is changing for Genie+ users on the west coast.

Now that we’ve had Genie+ around for almost a year, we decided it was about time to fill you in on WHAT this tool can do for YOU — and HOW you can get the most out of its offerings.
If there’s one thing you should know about Disney World, it’s that there’s almost always something new to see or do.

Last month alone, the remaining EPCOT Food and Wine Festival booths opened, the new BoardWalk Deli opened, and we attended the first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party since 2019, plus more. In addition to new things to see and do, there’s almost always something new to learn about Disney World, as well. So, without further ado, let’s get into the biggest things we learned at Disney World in August.
Even though it will never quite be the same as FastPass, Genie+ is here to stay.
Disney Genie
Disney introduced the new skip-the-line system last year that had many guests confused. On top of new rules and ride policies, it is no longer free to guests — it’ll cost you $15 in Disney World and $20 in Disneyland. Since Genie+ is a newer system, it is constantly changing to become the best it can be, and we’ve been keeping you updated on the latest changes (including a new banner that makes its most confusing rule EASIER). But now, a Disney executive has shared how the company uses Genie to control crowds in the parks.
A Disney World vacation might be one of the most magical experiences of your life…and it’s very likely that it’ll be one of the most expensive experiences, too. You’ll need to budget for a hotel room, park tickets, transportation, dining, and (of course) the all-important souvenirs.
