A number of changes to the health and safety procedures have been implemented in Disney World this weekend.

As of today, temperature checks are no longer required for entry to the parks, and face masks aren’t required in outdoor areas. And we noticed some changes to certain attractions as well!
Recently, there have been a ton of changes around the Disney World parks.
Cinderella Castle
Along with the looooong list of projects in the works, the parks have shifted their health and safety measures as well. Recently, Disney World slightly modified its mask requirements to allow for guests to briefly take off their masks for photos. On a bigger scale, Florida has already looked into loosening restrictions, while the COVID-19 vaccine is fully available to adults and could begin to become available to people under 16 soon. As Disney World takes all these facts into consideration, a big modification has occurred in the parks!
Disney World has required face masks on property since the parks reopened in July 2020.

Right now, all guests are required to wear an approved face covering at ALL times, unless when actively eating or drinking while stationary, or while taking outdoor photos. However, with COVID-19 vaccines rolling out throughout the country and states planning a return to “normal,” we’re taking a look at when we could see these policies shift.

We’re seeing restaurants and hotels reopening, health and safety measures shifting, and suspended events returning. But not everything is as it was before just yet! There are still quite a few things that haven’t returned to Disney World since the extended closure last year.
It has certainly been a unique year in Disney World and the whole world in general.

Last June, while the Disney World parks were closed, we took a look towards the future at what the remainder of the Disney World closure would look like. There are lots of ways that social distancing is encouraged and enforced in Disney World: from signage to barriers and more. There have been some changes in distancing measures over the past year. So, what does social distancing look like in Disney World now?
When the parks and resorts reopened last year at Walt Disney World, we saw a lot of changes due to health and safety!
Tons of new procedures all over the place!
Disney added a face mask requirement and temperature checks. We saw updated security procedures and physical distancing markers everywhere, as well as enhanced cleaning procedures. In addition, we spotted little changes, like the fact that self-serve drink stations were being manned by Cast Members. But now, one of those things may be going back to normal!
Big news from Disneyland today!
Disneyland Gate
Disneyland has announced that the parks will be reopening on April 30th for California residents. We’ve previously shared some ticket purchasing guidelines, but now, we’ve got even more details about the BIG reopening.
Since reopening, Disney World has implemented several health and safety measures to keep guests and Cast Members safe.
Pandora
Not only are there face masks and social distancing markers, but many attraction and shops have received a plexiglass makeover. Many rides have gotten a plexiglass makeover in the queues, the loading area, and the attraction vehicles themselves, and today we noticed that more plexiglass has been added to an attraction in Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
Disney is constantly making changes to how it socially distances guests throughout the parks.

And plexiglass is a whole SAGA. Moral of the story: Disney seems to be moving towards seating every row on rides. The slower rides tend to get a plexiglass shield between those rows — think Frozen Ever After or Living with the Land. The speedier rides don’t. And in Disney’s Animal Kingdom today, we noticed another attraction was getting that plexiglass makeover.
