We’re keeping a close eye on construction in Magic Kingdom, and things are CHANGING at the Rivers of America.
The water is disappearing!
The Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island closed in July to make way for new Cars attractions coming to Frontierland, and we’ve been visiting frequently since to look out for any construction updates. And as of yesterday, we’ve started to see some of the water getting drained!
Disney World as a whole is going through a TON of changes, but Magic Kingdom in particular is undergoing more refurbishments and projects at one time than we’ve seen in a WHILE.
Construction at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
There are construction projects in over half of the park’s lands right now, which is pretty significant. However, there are two massive projects that are affecting guests traveling to the park. If you’re heading to the Most Magical Place on Earth soon, this is what you need to prepare for in Magic Kingdom — this construction may affect your trip more than you thought, so it’s best to be prepared!
Magic Kingdom is BUSY right now, and we’re not talking about crowds. A lot is happening there. In Tomorrowland, Astro Orbiter just reopened after a refurbishment and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will close soon for a huge update.
The Hall of Presidents
Tom Sawyer Island and Rivers of America are also closing soon to be converted into a brand new Cars expansion in Frontierland, while Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is undergoing some massive upgrades. Behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, a new Villains land is being constructed. Whew! Well, we’ve got some news about an attraction in Liberty Square that’s been closed for five months — Hall of Presidents has quietly reopened.
