Between movie stars, government employees, passholders, and more — it’s likely been a bit chaotic for the company’s legal department. And now, we have an important update about the Magic Key lawsuit brought against Disney.
Disney has been in the middle of a number of lawsuits lately, but one important court case could be ending soon.
Magic Key Exclusive Popcorn Bucket
One of the lawsuits that had been filed against Disney (a while ago) was a $5 MILLION(!) case surrounding Magic Key Passes (essentially Disneyland’s version of Annual Passes) and their interaction with Theme Park Reservations. The lawsuit alleged that Disneyland “deceived its most loyal fan base by artificially limiting theme park capacity and blocking passholders with ‘no blockout’ annual passes from making reservations.” But now, it seems that case could be coming to an end.
Things with Park Passes and Annual Passholder requirements are changing, but that doesn’t mean the Park Pass lawsuit brought by Disney World Annual Passholders against Disney World is over.

The lawsuit was filed back in October of 2022 and essentially argues that the Platinum Pass and Platinum Plus passes promised “no blockout dates.” But, according to the Passholders, the Park Pass system has essentially created blockout dates for Passholders and modified their contracts with Disney. The Passholders also argue that Disney is prioritizing regular ticket purchasers to make a bigger profit, “abused a global pandemic,” and is “taking advantage” of their loyal passholder fans. So what’s happening now? Well, there have been some big developments.
