There are three parking garages at Disney Springs for easy parking and access to the shopping and dining district. However, the Orange garage will have less availability for the near future.
Astro Orbiter is now closed for refurbishment in Magic Kingdom.

The ride officially closed on January 13th for maintenance, and it will once again open later this year.
Ride closures happen all the time at Disney World, but occasionally restaurants will close as well to be refurbished.

We’ve most recently seen hotel food courts close for remodeling, but now a signature dining location will be closing for about two weeks. This restaurant offers a character breakfast and a signature dining dinner. January 6th is a BIG day for Disney World.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Unfortunately, we’re not looking forward to this day for anything opening, but the exact opposite. THREE popular Disney World rides will be closing for varying amounts of time for refurbishments. We’ll be getting a bit of new magic on one, while the other two will likely just see routine maintenance during their closures.

The popular roller coaster will close on January 6th and is set to reopen again in 2026. Disney hasn’t provided an official opening date but has only stated, “The attraction will reopen with a little bit of new magic in 2026.” However, we may have found a clue about a more concrete timeline.
Disney World always keeps its rides up to date and working properly to ensure a great guest experience.
Magic Kingdom
Disney will often close rides to do refurbishments for routine maintenance, or sometimes rides won’t even have to close down for the Imagineers to make small adjustments. Depending on the maintenance, refurbishments can take less than a day to do or over a year (as will be the case with Big Thunder Mountain Railroad). A new permit that we spotted for another Magic Kingdom ride hints that maintenance of some kind is coming soon.
A Disney World food court has FINALLY completely reopened!
World Premiere Food Court
We’re so excited to share that World Premiere Food Court is completely done with its refurbishment. This was a multi-month long project that has come to an end with the reopening of Rialto, the coffee and ice cream shop inside the food court. However, while this food court’s refurbishment is over, we’re still waiting for another one to wrap up.
2025 is going to be a BUSY year for Disney World!

Quite a few rides will be closing in 2025, with a mix of refurbishments and permanent closures due to construction projects. That means you’ve got to check those calendars before your vacation to make sure your favorite attraction is still operating! And now, we can add another ride to the list of those that will be unavailable.
It might be winter in Florida, but we’re celebrating the reopening of a pool at Disney World!
Port Orleans — French Quarter
A pool at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort—French Quarter briefly closed, but it is once again open to hotel guests! Not too many people might be going swimming in December, but it’s still good to see these refurbishments come to an end.
