Holiday Prices Arrive for Pay-Per-Ride Attractions at Disneyland Resort

Disney Genie recently launched at Disneyland Resort — it’s a free planning tool that can help you map out your day through the Disneyland app.

Also launched with Genie was Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lanes. Genie+ replaced the old MaxPass system with a paid system. It costs $20 per day, per person to have access to reservations to skip the standby lines at rides around the parks using their new Lightning Lanes (old MaxPass lanes). There are also a few high demand rides not included with Genie+ that you can pay for individually to skip the standby lines. And, the prices for those Individual Lightning Lanes just went up for the holiday season.

PHOTOS: An Animal Kingdom Ride Has Reopened After a Multi-Week Closure!

It’s not unusual for rides to get refurbished in Disney World. 

Kali River Rapids has reopened

With 50 years of wear and tear on some of the longer-running attractions, it makes sense that they would need a touch-up every once in a while. Disney World’s water rides tend to need those refurbs more frequently than others, and one of them just reopened after a long one!

NEWS: PRICES Revealed For Pay-Per-Ride Attractions in Disneyland

Disney Genie launched in Disney World a few months ago and now the service has made it to Disneyland Resort. The new system offers free services that help you plan your day and paid services that let you skip the standby lines for popular attractions (Genie+).

The price of Genie+ includes Lightning Lane access for many of the rides at Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure, but there are a few Individual Attraction Selections that are priced separately. Now, we know just how much you’ll pay to skip the lines at these rides!

Here at DFB, we keep you up to date with all the latest construction progress, refurbishments, downtime, and more at Disney World’s attractions. And, one ongoing closure that we’ve been keeping track of is over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Construction can pop up anywhere!

Those that enjoy cooling off on a water ride mid-day probably know what we’re talking about — Kali River Rapids! This attraction has been closed since November 1st, but it looks like we could be riding it once again soon!

The Five Best Rides at Animal Kingdom (And the Five Worst!)

Disney’s Animal Kingdom is not just a theme park, but also a sort of zoo, sort of a nature preserve, and sort of a smorgasbord of some of the BEST food at Disney Wold. Not only that, but Animal Kingdom has some of the most unique attractions of all the Disney Parks, from Kali River Rapids to Na’vi River Journey (not to mention, one of our favorite shows, Festival of the Lion King).

Should You Park Hop With Genie+ in Disney World?

Back in October, Disney World introduced the brand-new Disney Genie+ system!

This new offering is the paid replacement for Disney World’s old FastPass+ system, allowing guests who purchase it to schedule times to skip the lines for various attractions. There are definitely some big changes with Genie+ that take some getting used to, and since you’re paying for it, you’ll want to use it to the full extent to get your money’s worth. So where should you stand on Park Hopping? Is Park Hopping worth it if you purchase Disney Genie+?

Walt Disney World Railroad Closure Extended Into Early 2022

Before visiting Disney World, you’ll definitely want to check out the refurbishment calendar online to see what might be closed during your trip.

Check online before your trip so that you aren’t surprised!

Often, attractions will close for a short amount of time to get some maintenance and keep things spiffy, but sometimes those closures last longer than anticipated. The PeopleMover had a surprise closure of more than a year a while back, but one other Magic Kingdom ride has that one beat — the Walt Disney World Railroad.
