Hello from the West Coast, DFBers!
We’ve been to Disneyland, Downtown Disney, and Disney California Adventure checking out everything that’s been going on and seeing what’s new! So how about some updates?
Many things have been happening at Disneyland Resort this summer!
Avengers Campus opened a couple months ago, Disneyland park is celebrating its 66th birthday, and a brand new annual pass program was just announced! We’ve also seen many restaurants reopen and we just found out about, even more, returning soon (including the place you can get those iconic fried pickles!!). One of the things that haven’t returned to Disneyland are official character meet and greets. You can however spot characters at a distance and we got a special treat today!
Today is the big premiere of the new movie Jungle Cruise at Disneyland! The new film, based on the ride of the same name, stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Emily Blunt and will be out in theaters and on Disney+ July 30th.
After seeing Emily Blunt and The Rock in Disneyland yesterday with his new food truck, the Jungle Cruise premiere means some changes have to be made to Disneyland’s offerings, including a few ride closures, ride alterations, and changes to the fireworks schedule.
Hello to all our DFB readers!

We’re back!
We recently went on a trip to Disneyland Resort to see what’s been happening since we were there last, and we have a TON of updates. So buckle up, keep your hands and feet inside the ride vehicle, and let’s get going!
Wow! Disney news has been off the charts recently!
We learned a lot of important updates from Josh D’Amaro, the Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products Chairman, at the IAAPA Expo, Imagineers and teams at the D23 Fantastic Worlds event, and from Disney announcements. We’re here to review ALL of the big news updates from this week!
Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway has been a huge hit at Disney’s Hollywood Studios ever since it opened earlier this year.
And before it even opened at Walt Disney World, we learned that a version of this ride will ALSO be opening in ToonTown at Disneyland Park.
It’s time to get our quack on in Disneyland’s Toontown and order up a Daisy’s Diner specialty: Pepperoni Pizza!
Now, Daisy’s Diner isn’t exactly haute cuisine, but it does have something special going for it. Get ready for a slice of fun!

As you know, Mickey’s Toontown Fair will close Friday, February 11, 2011, to make way for the new, expanded Fantasyland in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.
As a farewell to a land many of us grew up with (and watched our kids grow up with), Erin Foster suggested we gather a few of our favorite photos and brightly-colored, cartoon memories of Toontown, food blog style.
Mickey and Minnie’s Houses
It looks like food played a big part in the ‘Toon’s lives. Mickey’s and Minnie’s country houses in Toontown both featured very busy kitchens! Minnie was always cooking up yummy sweets and giving us recipes for her favorite cookies; and Mickey — in the midst of a remodeling contest — had a some bigger [Read more…]
