Disney World’s 50th Anniversary lasted 18 months. Now, we’re in the middle of the Walt Disney Company’s 100th Anniversary, and everything is decked out and platinum. Soon, we’ll even be getting a new nighttime spectacular in EPCOT. But, did you know Dinsey is currently celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the Tokyo Disney Resort? And, you guessed it, they’re not holding anything back for the occasion.
It’s been a long, long day in Disney World and you’re just looking for a quick bite to eat on your way home. Suddenly, in the distance, you see them — those shining beacons of light that instantly call your name.

We’re talkin’ about those iconic golden arches, of course. Sometimes you’ve just got a hankerin’ for chicken nuggets, and if you’re heading to McDonald’s with your kiddo soon, you might score some NEW Happy Meal Toys!

But some of our favorite characters are the ones who might not come to mind as easily when you think of the House of the Mouse. We’ve seen the hippos from Fantasia in the Easter Parade, hugged Baloo and King Louie during Earth Month, and were even lucky enough to jam out with TRON Goofy during a media event this year. When we’re in Magic Kingdom, we often like to stop by Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe to say hello to the quirky Sonny Eclipse while we chow down on a burger and fries. This audio-animatronic alien crooner is an icon at this establishment, but today, he went MISSING.
