It’s almost a new week and for some lucky folks, that means a trip to Disney parks!
Well, for those folks who are headed into the parks sometime next week, you’re definitely going to want to be aware of what you WON’T be able to do on your day in the park! That’s right, we’re talking refurbishment closures in Disney World AND Disneyland this week! So, read on to find out about all of the attractions, restaurants, and stores that are closed for business January 27th through February 2nd!
Refurbishments in Magic Kingdom
Splash Mountain
Annual refurbishment is ongoing over at Splash Mountain so you’ll have to wave a Bre’r Rabbit over the construction barriers until February 28th! Of course, we’ve had a chilly Orlando week so maybe it’s a good thing we’re not getting thrown into the Briar Patch.

Walt Disney World Railroad
You can still visit Walt Disney World Railroad at Main Street Station where the train is positioned for photo ops, but if you want a ride you’ll have to wait. Construction on TRON Lightcycle Run continues and with that being the cause of this closure, the train could be out of commission for a good while longer. We expect the train to open sometime before or with TRON in time for Disney World’s 50th in 2021.

Refurbishments in Epcot
Test Track and Test Track SIMporium
Over in Epcot, construction continues on Test Track and Test Track SIMporium. The good news is, it is routine maintenance so we should be crafting custom cars again come February 26th!

Refurbishments in Hollywood Studios
Muppet*Vision 3D
For the first time in weeks, there IS a closure over in Hollywood Studios. As of Sunday, Muppet*Vision 3D will be closing for refurbishment. We’re not sure what this refurbishment entails but we do know it isn’t too long! As it stands, we should be seeing our muppet pals again on February 9th.

Refurbishments in Animal Kingdom
Kali River Rapids
And finally, in Animal Kingdom, the closure continues on Kali River Rapids until March 21st for routine winter maintenance.

Refurbishments in Disney World Water Parks
Typhoon Lagoon
Another of those watery winter closures continues over at Typhoon Lagoon which we expect to reopen in mid-March. You can visit Blizzard Beach in the meantime though (although it may be closed this weekend due to weather)! Times are currently not listed for Blizzard Beach this Saturday and Sunday on the Walt Disney World website.
Refurbishments in Disneyland
Haunted Mansion
Across the country, Disneyland is seeing their fair share of refurbishments too and some of them are on some seriously classic and iconic attractions. For instance, Haunted Mansion is seeing downtime right now. We expect that the ghouls are working on removing the holiday overlay, but Disney has also announced improvements to mechanics, interiors, and exteriors. This haunting tour won’t return until sometime in the Spring so you’ll have to get your ghost fix elsewhere!

Snow White’s Scary Adventures
Pop over to Fantasyland to spot another classic undergoing refurb. A MASSIVE scrim and some construction barriers are currently covering up Snow White’s Scary Adventures as the attraction receives some TLC as well as an all-new happy-ending scene and a new vignette. A reopening date has yet to be announced but we expect this closure to be pretty lengthy considering the scope of work.

King Arthur Carrousel
But that’s not all going on in Fantasyland! In fact, get used to the sight of those themed construction barriers because there are a lot of them! King Arthur Carrousel is out of commission as well. We’re not sure when this closure will end either but we’ll be sure to keep an eye out!

Mark Twain River Boat
If you were hoping to take a cruise on the Mark Twain River Boat, tough luck this week! The classic vehicle is currently not making its course through the river.
Refurbishments in California Adventure
Grizzly River Run and Rushin’ River Outfitters
California Adventure is no stranger to closures this week either! Like Kali River Rapids in Disney World, the raft ride in Disneyland is down too. So Grizzly River Run and the accompanying Rushin’ River Outfitters are both closed next week. This attraction is set to reopen on February 14th, so not too long to wait!
Red Car Trolley
A classic mode of California Adventure transport is down for refurb right now, too. The Red Trolley Car has been closed since April of last year while construction surges onward on the Avengers Campus.

The Bakery Tour
Sad, sad news. The Bakery Tour in Disneyland which takes you on a tour of a REAL bakery is currently not running. No reopening date is yet announced so we’ll keep an eye out.
Carthay Circle
Finally, we’re to our last refurb on the list! Carthay Circle Restaurant and Lounge is closed next week. However, according to the Disneyland website, it should reopen on FRIDAY! So no long wait here. So we can chow down on those House Biscuits pretty darn soon. Thank goodness!
