While Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure are still closed and Disneyland’s hotels have asked guests through September 5th to reschedule, Downtown Disney, the Disneyland Resort’s shopping and dining district, is OPEN for guests!
We took a little stroll through Downtown Disney to do a little shopping (duh!) and to see what’s new! Come along with us!
Disneyland Construction Update
OK, TECHNICALLY, our first big update from Downtown Disney is actually from the Disneyland Esplanade. While Disneyland Park is still closed with no reopening date, we couldn’t help but take a little peek through the gates.
And when we DID, we noticed that the Emporium on Main Street, U.S.A. was undergoing some construction!
Of course, we couldn’t get a closer look at those rafters to see what was going on. And while we know that they’ve been working on the Avengers Campus over at Disney California Adventure, it’s good to see that things are happening inside Disneyland Park too!
Downtown Disney Dining Updates
La Brea Bakery Cafe
After closing its doors along with the rest of Downtown Disney in March due to the global health crisis, La Brea Bakery has officially REOPENED!
Due to regulations in California, La Brea is only open for outdoor dining on the patio. Their hours are 10:30AM to 8:00PM on Monday through Thursday and 10:30AM until 9:00PM on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Downtown Disney Merchandise Updates
World of Disney
No visit to Downtown Disney is complete without stopping into World of Disney, and there was PLENTY to see there, because HALLOWEEN HAS ARRIVED!
We’ve already spotted so, so much Halloween merch over at Walt Disney World, but there’s some stuff that has a distinctive Disneyland flair to it! For instance, there’s this 2020 Disneyland Halloween kids tee, featuring magician Mickey, jester Goofy, and vampire bat Donald Duck sneaking around the jolly giant pumpkin that sits on Main Street! This not very scary T-shirt cost $24.99.
If your kiddo is more like us and knows Halloween is all about the candy, then this gray Halloween Tricks and Treats 2020 Disneyland tee is for them! Featuring vampire Mickey, vampire bat Donald, skeleton Pluto, Chip ‘n’ Dale as pirates, and jester Goofy as well as a BIG kettle of candy, this shirt tells a story. And it can be yours for $24.99.
Because no Disneyland event would be complete without a spirit jersey, we thought this sparkly orange Disneyland Resort Halloween spirit jersey was the perfect thing for fall! And, yes, that is candy spelling out Disneyland! How cute!
There were plenty of sweatshirts and long sleeve shirts perfect for the chillier Halloween season at World of Disney! Like this 2020 Disneyland Resort Halloween Mickey sweatshirt!

But it also features Jack Skellington on the sleeve!
This very crazy sweatshirt is $44.99.
If Halloween isn’t your thing and FRANKLY you want to just get to 2021, we don’t blame ya! You can fast forward to the new year with the new the Disneyland Resort 2021 calendar!

We’re pretty partial to the Mickey Premium Bar!
These little cutiepies are $9.99 each!
These funky little guys are also $9.99.
The Disney Dress Shop
Halloween didn’t just strike at World of Disney, it came to The Disney Dress Shop too!
Get in the Halloween spirit with this Disneyland Halloween Spirit jersey, featuring the same crazy candy font on the back as the orange spirit jersey we spotted over at World of Disney.
And even though Oogie Boogie Bash was canceled over at Disney California Adventure, you can still channel the big ol’ bag of bugs with this Oogie Boogie dress!
Check out Oogie Boogie himself on the bottom, which his roulette wheel.
This dress is PERFECT for the Halloween season, and will set ya back $128.
Honestly, we can just FEEL the fall feelings in the air with all of this new seasonal merch, and hey, maybe we’ll pair it with an all-day brunch!! Until next time, that’s everything new we spotted at Downtown Disney!
