If you’ve been following along with us at DFB for the past few weeks, then you’ve probably seen TONS of holiday posts and articles from Walt Disney World.
However, we’ve also been spending time celebrating on the West Coast at Disneyland Resort! Even though the parks aren’t open, we’ve been checking out all the holiday offerings in Downtown Disney and the newly reopened Buena Vista Street. We’ve tried holiday snacks, shopped for holiday merchandise, and even gotten to experience Christmas decorations! And when strolling through Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure today, we spotted an adorable Christmas cupcake that we couldn’t resist!
We stopped by Trolley Treats to check out their menu of holiday sweets! We spotted two holiday cupcakes on the menu that weren’t there last week.
The first option was a vanilla cupcake with blue icing, white pearls, and Mickey ears.
The other cupcake was made of chocolate cake with green icing, decorated to look like a Christmas tree!
We decided to get the Christmas tree cupcake because we thought it was the cutest of the two. I mean, just look at that star and those red sprinkles!
It’s really photogenic, but pretty basic as far as ingredients go with the chocolate cake and green frosting. It’s available for $5.99.
The cake itself was moist, which was really nice, but the icing was SUPER sweet. A little overwhelming on the sugary flavor!
Unlike many of the cupcakes we’ve seen in Disney World recently, there wasn’t anything special hiding inside this one, which might have made it more worth the cost. While we didn’t dislike it, this definitely doesn’t make our list of top cupcakes this holiday season!
Who knew that a chocolate cupcake could be so, well, vanilla?! We’ll keep checking back for more holiday sweets and be sure to share our findings with you! Stay tuned to DFB for all your updates from Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort!
