Happy February! We’ve made it to month two of 2021, and we’re definitely excited about it!
January had a LOT of big Disney news, and we’ve got just as much to look forward to in February. We’re still waiting on several announcements, like opening dates for attractions, but even so, there’s plenty going on in the parks. Let’s dive into the 10 things you need to know about February in Walt Disney World!
EPCOT’s Festival of the Arts Ends Soon
The EPCOT International Festival of the Arts began last month, and it will end on February 22nd. We’ve had a blast checking out all the entertainment and eating all the food, so if you’re heading to the parks soon, we have all the need-to-know info.
Guests are also invited to participate in various activities, like scavenger hunts and interactive artwork. This EPCOT festival is truly like no other, and we’ll certainly miss it when it’s gone. (That is until the Flower and Garden Festival starts a few days later!)
Why THIS is the EPCOT Festival You Should Check Out!
It’s Time for the Disney Princess Virtual Half Marathon
It’s almost time for another virtual runDisney race! The Disney Princess Half Marathon will be happening virtually from February 18th-21st.
Registered participants should receive a medal for each race they run, as well as the option of a race shirt. Even though we can’t run these races in Disney World right now, we’re ready to see how fans get creative with their exercise from home!

You Can Celebrate Valentine’s Day With Special Deals
Is Disney World your dream destination for a romantic Valentine’s Day getaway? Well, we’ve got great news! Multiple Disney Resorts are offering special packages with wine and chocolates. You can order this deal from various resort restaurants.
Besides this package, there are also several meal deals going on around Walt Disney World property. Morimoto Asia has a Chef’s Tasting Dinner special, while STK Steakhouse has offerings all weekend.
If you’re looking to have a fancy dinner date, Disney Springs may be the perfect place to go!

A New Exhibit Has Arrived in EPCOT
Over in the American Adventure pavilion in EPCOT, a new exhibit has just arrived! The Soul of Jazz: An American Adventure is the title of the new exhibit, and it tells the history of jazz music in the U.S., inspired by the Pixar movie, Soul.
Besides the placards telling the story of how jazz music spread throughout the country, you’ll also find some memorabilia from the greatest jazz musicians of all time.
The next time you’re in EPCOT, make sure to swing by the rotunda in the American Adventure to check out this new area. You may just learn something you didn’t know!

You Can Celebrate Black History Month
As part of the “Celebrate Soulfully at Disney Springs” event, guests will be delighted with jazz performances, new art displays, special food menus, and so much more. It’s a Soul-inspired celebration of Black History Month!
Musicians will perform in Disney Springs on Motown Mondays, Jazz Thursdays, and Smooth Sundays, and you’ll find Soul-themed artwork from emerging Black artists around the shopping and dining complex. Besides these, we’ll also encounter celebratory eats and merchandise in the various stores and restaurants.

The PeopleMover Will Be Closed ALL Month
There are several refurbishments happening at Walt Disney World right now, but this one stands out in particular. The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover has been closed for nearly a year and was supposed to end its months-long refurbishment at the end of January. Sadly, the refurb has been extended AGAIN to March 1st.
We’ve spotted the ride vehicles being tested in the past few weeks, and we hope this is a sign that the reopening won’t be delayed another time. (Although we still won’t be shocked if it is!) We’re really starting to miss this fan-favorite ride, and we’re ready to hop on it once again.

Several Other Things Will Be Closed As Well!
Like we mentioned, the PeopleMover isn’t the only thing that’s closed right now. The Hall of Presidents is currently closed to add in the animatronic version of President Joe Biden — we don’t have a reopening date on that one.
In addition, some updates are happening at some of the Disney Resort hotels, as well as some maintenance on Kali River Rapids. It seems to be the season for refurbishments!

We’re Keeping an Eye on Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
Let us first state that we have no real idea when this upcoming attraction will open in EPCOT! (We just know that it will be sometime this year.) However, if the things we’ve noticed recently are any indication, it seems to be getting closer to the opening date.
Part of the France Pavilion expansion opened last month, allowing us a look at some more details in this area, including the side of the new creperie restaurant. We also noticed Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure merchandise showing up in the France Pavilion’s gift shop!
Signs are in place and things seem to be going well inside the attraction, so maybe we’ll get some more information this month! Even if it doesn’t open in February, perhaps an opening date will be announced? We’re not sure, but either way, we’re prepping ourselves for an adventure at Gusteau’s!

Gideon’s Bakehouse Has An…Interesting Flavor This Month
Gideon’s Bakehouse has taken Disney Springs by storm since its soft opening in December. The bakery has become so popular that the grand opening last month had an 11-hour virtual queue. Each month, the shop will have a special limited-time cookie flavor, and the cookie for February is red hot!
The February flavor is called the Eternal Flame Cookie, and it’s a dark chocolate cookie laced with ancho, cayenne, and cinnamon, topped with chocolate-covered cherries. This treat packs some heat on the back end, but if that’s not enough, you can order an extra-spicy version!
Both of these cookies are $6 and would be really fun to try if you like spicy food and desserts! But hurry, you can only order them for the month of February!
