It’s a great day to celebrate Halloween at Disneyland Resort!
Today is the first day of Oogie Boogie Bash in Disney California Adventure! While Disney World kicked off their Halloween After Hours event last month, now it’s Disneyland’s turn. Are you ready for all the creepy fun and spooky treats? We’ll be reporting LIVE from the first night of Oogie Boogie Bash! Join us and follow along as we update this post all night with EVERY detail from this scary event!
Oogie Boogie Dates and Pricing
Tonight (September 9th) is the first night of Oogie Boogie Bash, which will be held on 25 select nights through October 31st. Ticket prices ranged from $114 to $169 depending on the night, and they sold out a few weeks ago. The event takes place in Disney California Adventure from 6PM to 11PM, though guests can enter the park as early as 3PM.
If you decide to enter early, that gives you three extra hours in California Adventure before the event officially begins! Are you ready to get into all the Halloween fun?
Getting Started
When you get to California Adventure, you need to check-in at the Main Entrance. Check-in begins as early as 3PM, so even if you arrive before the event begins, you’ll need to check-in.
There are signs reminding guests that the park is closing at 6PM today.

At check-in, you will receive a wristband which will help Cast Members recognize you as a party attendee.
Guests are required to wear the wristband on their left wrist, and Cast Members would not give out candy bags until the wristband was on.
Crowds
Considering Oogie Boogie Bash is sold out, we weren’t surprised to see the crowds. Guests were already lined up before 3PM to enter the park.
The event has a limited capacity, and at 3PM the crowds were pretty average. We’ll be checking back around 6PM for the crowd levels once the event begins.
Even the crowds in Avengers Campus weren’t too bad. At this point, the park was still open to regular park guests as well.
As the night went on, we noticed that the crowds thinned out in some places and increased in other spots! When we checked out the line to see Cruella, it was VERY long.
Luckily, the lines have moved pretty quickly tonight overall!
We’ll continue to keep an eye on the crowd levels throughout the night!
The Map
Once you check-in, you are given an official Oogie Boogie Bash map, which shows you pretty much everything you need to know about the event!
You can see a list of the attractions, merchandise locations, and dining locations that will be open during the event…
…some event highlights…
…the exclusive entertainment…
…special dining opportunities, how to use PhotoPass at the event…
…and a health and safety notice.
It’s time to get the party STARTED!!!
Costumes
While anyone can wear a costume to Oogie Boogie Bash, Disneyland has outlined certain Costume Guidelines, which apply to guests 13 and under and also guests 14 and older. Keep in mind that these guidelines can impact whether your costume is allowed into the park, so you might want to double check before planning your costume.
We noticed plenty of guests around the park in some cute Halloween costumes!
Merchandise
We saw a lot of spooky merchandise at Oogie Boogie Bash! All of this merchandise was out before the event officially began, so we’ll be on the lookout for event exclusive merchandise! We spotted an Oogie Boogie Loungefly Backpack for $85…
…and the Oogie Boogie Spirit Jersey!
The front says “Frightfully Fun” and it’s covered in green, sparkly Oogie Boogies!
We also found some Oogie Boogie Shorts for $34.99. If you like green, the merchandise at this event is for you!
The Oogie Boogie Bash Tumbler is available for $39.99. It features Oogie Boogie on the front and is covered in pumpkins, bats, and more!
There are a few limited edition pins as well like the Under My Spell Maleficent Pin…
…and the Forever Wicked Evil Queen Pin!
Stay tuned for more merchandise updates!
Decorations
At Oogie Boogie Bash, guests can enjoy the Halloween decor that is already in the parks!
There are several photo-ops around the park for the event! We spotted one that says “Happy Halloween”…
…and a super festive photo-op with pumpkins and candy!
And the decorations look even better at night with spooky lighting and special projects. Check out the top of the Carthay Circle Theatre.
The special lighting at night really gives the party a lot of atmosphere.
Talk about setting the right mood!
Trick-or-Treating
Trick-or-treating at Oogie Boogie Bash will take place on Immersive Treat Trails, where guests can get candy AND possibly spot characters, including new villains like Agatha from WandaVision. You will be given a candy bag when you check-in for the event!
There are Treat Trail Markers throughout the park indicating where guests can go to get candy!
If you’re heading to Oogie Boogie Bash, be on the lookout for these when you want some candy!

Oogie Boogie Bash serves guests a few special exclusive event treats. At Flo’s V-8 Cafe, you can choose from (or get all of them) three different types of loaded fries, including Buffalo Chicken Fries, Loaded Gravy Fries, or Loaded Chili Fries.
The Loaded Buffalo Chicken Fries are Steak Fries topped with Cheddar Cheese, Chicken Tenders tossed in Buffalo Sauce, Celery Bits, and a Ranch drizzle for $11.99!
Next up is the Loaded Gravy Fries which includes Steak Fries topped with Chicken Tenders, Jack Cheese, and Gravy for $11.99.

Oogie Boogie Bash has both dinner and dessert packages available during the event, and guests can add them on while at the event.
The Wine Country Trattoria Oogie Boogie Bash Parade Dining involves a three-course meal at Wine Country Trattoria, reserved seating for the Frightfully Fun Parade, and an Oogie Boogie popcorn bucket with the children’s meal.

Entertainment
There are a lot of entertainment options at Oogie Boogie Bash, such as Mickey’s Trick & Treat Show in Hollywood Land, where guests can dance to Halloween tunes and listen to not-so-scary tunes.
The show is SO much fun. We got to see Mickey and Minnie…
…as well as a few of their closest friends!
They made sure we remembered that this is a PARTY!
And we can’t forget the Frightfully Fun Parade. As tradition dictates, it began with the Headless Horseman making his unforgettable journey through California Adventure.
