Of course, the park has recently reopened two rides after major refurbishments, and there are some big construction projects going on in Frontierland and beyond, but there are quite a few little changes as well! It’s been almost a year since we said goodbye to Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island in Magic Kingdom, and since then, we’ve been following the construction happening in that space that will result in a brand new Cars-themed expansion called Piston Peak.

Now, we don’t have any idea of when Piston Peak might be opening in Disney World, but we’ve been following its construction progress, and will continue to follow it from start to finish. A Disneyland parkgoer climbed out of the ride vehicle on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and fell down the 50-foot final drop on the ride.

The 13-year-old visitor exited the ride vehicle before the end of the attraction on Sunday, June 21st, and was taken to the hospital for his injuries following the fall, according to the Orange County Register.

July is gearing up to be a HOT summer at Walt Disney World, with guests eager to experience new additions like the Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets, Soarin’ Across America, and Bluey’s Wild World. And throughout July, Disney World hotel guests have more of a chance to experience these new attractions through Extended Evening Hours!

Extended Evening Hours offer two extra hours to guests staying at Disney Deluxe Tier or Deluxe Villa resorts after the park closes to the general public.
